Hypocrisy is like leaven in the sense that it only takes a little bit of it to affect a great mass of something.
We can only be hypocrites before men, but never before GOD. HE sees through the actor’s mask.
A man has but one life to lose, and one soul to save; and it is madness to sacrifice the salvation of the soul to the preservation of the life.”
There was a stench because of the continuous smoldering fires. So it became associated with eternal, fiery punishment or what we call hell or the lake of fire like in REV 19 and 20.
If HE knows that about you, if HE knows that intimate information about you, and of course HE does.
Well then HE also knows all the important things. Because you are of more value than many sparrows:
11 “When they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not worry about how or what you are to speak in your defense, or what you are to say;
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
In one night, all the man’s accomplishments and plans were ruined. Reminds me of the story of Haman in the book of Esther for those who know it.
Eternity proved the man a fool, and his story showed that it isn’t only sin to give material things too high a place in your life – it is also stupid.
/And that care is so detailed…GOD cares for the flowers and the birds and the grass. If every day was sunny, and there was never clouds and rain, the flowers the grass and then the birds would die.
It was also true in another sense; Jesus would ascend to Heaven and in a sense, leave the kingdom in the hands of these disciples. And they would eventually leave it to us.
There are only two ways you can respond to Jesus; positively, in faith, or negatively, with unbelief.
MAT 20:28, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
The master gives these servants all his possessions. Jesus also gave HIS Disciples and us a kingdom and made us co-heirs with HIM of all things.
Jesus said the Pharisees killed, crucified, and flogged HIS servants.
The ignorant servants are those who, like Saul, who maybe are sincere in trying to be good and do the right thing, but their faithless religion is based on ignorance.
2CO 3:7-9, Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, (Law) came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
The LORD knew that HIS coming into the world would bring division. That has been the overall or an overall theme in this CH for sure.
HE did not come to give peace on earth (that will happen at His Second Coming when HE comes as the “Prince of peace” to establish HIS kingdom here on earth.
Although that’s not quite the finite, HE did come to bring us Peace withing ourselves. HE would give us peace inside HIS plan for our life.
Following the Prince of Peace will provide a peace unknown to those who are without HIM. That is the message we are to spread.
