Hosea deals with the subject of rejection.

Sunday, January 6, 2013

“Listen to the word of the Lord” means there is a subpoena from God: As in, “The court is in session.”

First, there are the sins of omission because
there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

We have disconnected character from destiny.

1JO 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

The environment is polluted as well.

The minute you get away from the Word of God, you are doomed to failure in both your Christian life and your national life.

Rejection is defined in terms of being forsaken, being excluded, being repudiated or eliminated, being denied, being discarded, being set aside.
Secondly, rejection is also defined in terms of negative volition: to refuse to acknowledge, believe, receive, accept, hear, or consider.
Thirdly, rejection also means to throw away as worthless or unsatisfactory.

The person being rejected is the rejectee; the person doing the rejecting is the rejecter.

Both sides have very serious problems, such as, being hurt so much that their spiritual life is damaged either temporarily or permanently.

One of the reactions from being hurt is withdrawal from the environment where the hurt took place…..and this can be detrimental to the individual, especially if the environment is the place that God has called you to.

a. First there is passive rejection, in passive rejection, you are rejected by others.
b. Secondly, there is active rejection in which you do the rejecting. The rejecter is often blamed for being wrong, when in reality, he may or may not be at fault.

Sometimes rejection is mutually destructive.
Sometimes it is destructive to the rejectee.
Sometimes it is destructive only to the rejecter.

Many times rejection is often a matter of an individual’s perception of reality.

They think that they are being rejected when in reality they are simply victims of their own insecurities.

The arrogant believer is always defending his own perception of self.

GAL 6:3, for if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.

Fear of rejection, fear of failure, lack of confidence, rejecting the responsibility and the spiritual gift that God has given them, etc.

1CO 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Once you put yourself and your self-righteousness on the forward line of defense in your soul, you have completely destroyed your spiritual life.

In some cases, the perception of reality is so distorted that the believer who assumes that he or she is being rejected is actually the rejecter.
