2TI 3:1-2a, “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self.”
Amplified – 2TI 3:1-2a “In the last days there will set in perilous times of great stress and trouble, hard to deal with and hard to bear. For people will be lovers of self.”
Autarches – to be self-sufficient or independent from circumstances.
Tapeinooie = means how to handle being abased, degraded, r humiliated, pressured.
Present tense – he can handle situations that continue for a certain length of time despite the pressures the situations may bring.
Passive voice – God’s purpose for you to face every situation in life rightly related to the grace of God.
Perisseuo means how to handle prosperity. It means to have over and above what we need or to live in prosperity.
The key to living in humility and prosperity is that though circumstances vary, grace does not.
“I know” – the same assets are used in adversity as well as prosperity, which is knowledge of doctrine.
Mueo – I have been instructed or initiated into the mystery. This word mueo comes from musterion i.e., translated mystery.
Chortazo means well fed or satisfied.
Peiano in the active voice means that you make your own adversity.
Man generally makes his own adversity, but receives his prosperity under grace.
They are either changing for the better or the worst but that doesn’t mean you change.
“I can do” is the verb escheuo which means to have endowed power, not your own.
This literally means “by means of the one,” who endunamoo’s me or to empower, to strengthen someone with something.
This verse says, I have endowed power for all things by means of the one who keeps on pouring the power into me.
HEB 4:12, the word of God is alive and powerful.
You are in the Church-age as a member of the royal family and you are not going to die before your time appointed by God.
Even though you may face the greatest possible historical disaster, instead of death, there is a place of refuge.
Because the PPOG in this dispensation is the place of refuge, in the church age, it isn’t the geographical location that really matters, it is the plan of God.
No matter how bad things become historically, the prosperity provided in the PPOG is extended to believers in disaster, as in time of historical prosperity.
Paul is revealing that no matter what the circumstances of life may be, he is not changed by the circumstances and he is not a slave to circumstances.
He has passed the adversity and the pressure test and with the gift from Philippi, Paul will pass the prosperity test.
He was just as happy in poverty as he was in prosperity because he had +H, which is God’s happiness.
The victory for the Christian is to face the situations in life with total stability so that you are not a slave to your circumstances.
Manthano – to become a disciplined student of the Word of God.
The word for content is autarches which means to be self-sufficient or independent from circumstances.

In verse 13, “I can do” is the verb escheuo which means to have endowed power, not your own.
This literally means “by means of the one,” who endunamoo’s me or to empower, to strengthen someone with something.
This verse says, I have endowed power for all things by means of the one who keeps on pouring the power into me.
How does he keep on pouring the power into you? HEB 4:12, the word of God is alive and powerful.
The abomination of desolation is the image of the dictator of the revived Roman Empire in the tribulation.
One of them is what we have here, universal means of communication.
MAT 16:3 “Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?”
1. Israel’s rebirth, MAT 24:32-33.
As Jesus prophesied, the Jews were scattered during the Jewish-Roman war of AD 70 (LUK 21:24).
Also prophesied to occur before Christ’s return, the nation of Israel was miraculously reborn on May 14, 1948.\
2. Plummeting or plunging morality, 2TI 3:1-5.
3. Famines, violence and wars, MAT 24:7-8.
The days just before His coming would see increased famines, violence and ethnic wars, a clear picture of our planet, MAT 24:6-8.
4. Increase in earthquakes, MAT 24:7.
Like increasing birth pangs, in the 1940’s there were 51 above Richter 6.0; the 1950’s, 475; the 1980’s, 1,085; and in the 1990’s at
the current rate, a projected 1,540 (Matthew 24:7).
5. Explosion of travel and education, DAN 12:4.
6. Explosion of cults and the occult, MAT 24:5.
Counterfeit spirituality is everywhere with cults and false Christs, psychic phenomena, spiritism, Satan worship, witchcraft, nature worship and the new Age movement, 1TI 4:1.
7. The New World Order, MAT 24:15, Dan 7-12.
8. Increase in apostasy, 2TH 2:3.
