Forgiveness = to give up resentment, excuse a guilty party, to release from payment, to forget an offense never bringing it up again not even to discuss it.
It also means that you never again recall what the individual has done to you or penalize the individual for doing so.
Arrogance has no ability to forgive.
LUK 17:4 “If someone sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”
EPH 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,
PSA 51:4 “Against Thee, Thee only I have sinned, and done what is evil in Thy sight,”
In 1SA 21:1-10, David willfully sinned and lied with the result of that an entire city was wiped out, (City of Nob).
Then he “faked madness or that he was crazy, became a phony and he made the enemy believe he was crazy and as a result hundreds died.
In 1SA 2:11-18, thousands were killed in battle because of Satan’s temptation of David who pretended to be crazy in the city of Gath.
2Sa 11, – David failed in his responsibility when he should have led his troops in battle but he stayed home in Jerusalem.
There was also disaster on the home-front of Jerusalem when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, 2SA 11:2-27.
He ended up in certain “shocking” sins as he committed adultery, tried to get Uriah drunk, and committed murder.
2SA 6:1-13, he purposely disobeyed God’s command about the ark and he ignored the word of God and many men were killed as a result.
We have his failure to forgive completely – with Absalom his son.
ISA 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake [because of My honor and integrity]. Furthermore, I will not remember your sin.”
COL 3:13 “Bearing one another and forgiving each other. Whoever has a complaint against anyone else, just as the Lord forgave you, so also you should forgive others.”
You will not let them get to you.
EPH 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other just as God in Christ has also forgiven you.”
MAR 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your transgressions.
COL 2:13 And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
1JO 2:12 “I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.”
LUK 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.
Another reason why we are benefited by forgiving others is because healing take place through forgiveness.
The breastplate of righteousness actually includes: the filling of Spirit; doctrinal orientation; grace orientation; and a personal sense of destiny.
The believer, who through the Spirit and inculcation of doctrine, understands and develops the honor code in his life, and he will have spiritual self-esteem and a personal sense of destiny.
Remember again that the breastplate of righteousness centers around two words: TRUTH AND INTEGRITY.
Integrity is defined as devotion to spiritual, moral, and ethical principles related to truth and honesty.
The breastplate of righteousness relates to both the predesigned plan of God, as well as every function in relationship to people, which even means following the laws of divine establishment.
Principle: Gossip, maligning, slandering is a violation of the breastplate of righteousness.
ISA 11:3 He would delight in respect for the Lord, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear;
JOH 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
In MAR 4:24 He said “Take care what you listen to.
Or in LUK 8:18 “Therefore take care how you listen;
EXO 14:13-14, “Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever. The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”
ISA 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.
PRO 11:9 With {his} mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
