– Salvation –
Apologetics to Jehovah’s Witnesses
Part 2
The
The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the rejected King, has died on the cross for the sins of the world, that He was raised from the dead for our justification, and that by Him all that believe are justified from all things.
Bold, but Humble
Meek, but not Weak
Jesus Christ, the rejected King
Died on the Cross for the sins of the world
raised from the dead for our justification
by Him all that believe are justified from all things
The Gospel
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The Gospel
“The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
Redemption
Redemption means to deliver by paying a price.
Reconciliation
Because of TLJC’s work on the Cross the barrier between us and God has been torn down, allowing the man-ward side of the cross to be executed.
Propitiation
means that Christ completely satisfied the just demands of a holy God for judgment on sin by His death on the Cross, past present and future…
…This propitiation, or payment for sins, allows God’s righteousness to be satisfied and clearing the way for His mercy & love.
God
Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
The Gospel
Christ arose to fulfill the Davidic covenant (2SA 7:12-16; PSA 89:20-37; ISA 9:6-7; LUK 1:31-33; ACT 2:25-31)
Christ arose to be the giver of resurrection life (JOH 10:10-11; JOH 11:25-26; EPH 2:6; COL 3:1-4; 1JO 5:11-12)
Christ arose that He might become the source of resurrection power (MAT 28:18; EPH 1:19-21; PHI 4:13)
Christ arose to be head over the church (EPH 1:0-23)
Christ arose because our justification had been accomplished (ROM 4:25)
Christ arose to be the firstfruits of resurrection (1CO 15:20-23)
Salvation is a work of God for man, not a work of man for God
There is a perfect order to God’s grace.
Faith before Fruit!
Dead Works
Anything but the True Gospel is good enough for Satan
Anything!!!
Efficacious Grace:
given to individuals who have made a non-meritorious decision to believe in Christ. God the H.S. makes our faith in Christ effective for salvation.
The Gospel
Gospel, in the Greek, evangelion, is “the good news.”
