The Royal Family Honor Code is recognized in the CA, but was followed by all Bels, OT & NT, because when a Bel walks in divine integrity & truth they are operating in the RFHC.
The RFHC recognizes the Supreme Court of Heaven, therefore operating in doctrinal principles, like respect for authority, unconditional love, respecting people’s privacy and staying clear of legalistic attitudes.
1Cor 10:11 Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come
Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
1Sa 24:4 The men of David said to him, “Behold, this is the day of which the LORD said to you, ‘Behold; I am about to give your enemy into your hand, and you shall do to him as it seems good to you.’” Then David arose and cut off the edge of Saul’s robe secretly.
Principle- peer pressure or the opinions of others should not sway your doctrinal beliefs & integrity in times of adversity.
Divine integrity and standing firm in your faith will be challenged and put to the test. RFHC demands divine integrity which is only present in a person with BD & spiritual guidance HS.
1Sa 24:5 It came about afterward that David’s conscience bothered him because he had cut off the edge of Saul’s robe.
Conscience (Heb n) Leb, meaning the right lobe where knowledge, norms & standards reside. A place within the soul for reflection and emotions to co-exist.
1Sa 24:6 So he said to his men, “Far be it from me because of the LORD that I should do this thing to my lord, the LORD’S anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, since he is the LORD’S anointed.”
Operating in the RFHC means accepting authority or the chain of command God has placed you under, no matter what the circumstance.
1Sa 24:7 David persuaded his men with these words and did not allow them to rise up against Saul. And Saul arose, left the cave, and went on his way.
Operating within the RFHC demands acknowledgment that God has final authority over life. He is judge and jury, not you!
Rom 13:2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.
Rom 12:19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord.
Joh 15:12-13 This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.
1Sam 24:8 Now afterward David arose and went out of the cave and called after Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” And when Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the ground and prostrated himself.
Though David knew he was God’s chosen man, the future leader of Israel, he recognized Saul’s position of authority. David knows God is righteous & just and in HIS time, God would come through for David.
David was displaying the influence of the Holy Spirit as noted in Gal 5:22 …the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
1Sam 24:10 “Behold, this day your eyes have seen that the LORD had given you today into my hand in the cave, and some said to kill you, but my eye had pity on you; and I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD’S anointed.’
My eye had pity, CHUWC – meaning a compassionate gesture, recognition of doing something out of order, to have a regard or esteem for something or someone.
1Sa 24:12 “May the LORD judge between you and me, and may the LORD avenge me on you; but my hand shall not be against you.
David is claiming his case to the Supreme Court of Heaven. At the same time he is showing the RFHC of respect and impersonal, unconditional love.
David again repeats the request to lay the case down upon the Supreme Court of Heaven. 1Sa 24:15 The LORD will be the judge!
Prov 25:21-22 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head, And the LORD will reward you.
King Saul’s reprieve toward David was short lived, by 1Sam 26 King Saul has his troops chasing David once again! Guilt & shame don’t change the inner man, only God can do that.
1Sa 24:20 “Now, behold, I know that you will surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hand.
David makes the promise and will go on to keep it to the best of his ability. But Saul the one at fault makes no such promise or effort of true reconciliation.
Godly leaders are not sinless nor are they perfect. They have integrity, they put BD first above emotions & worldly opinions. Godly leaders understand divine integrity comes from a relationship with God.
Godly leaders don’t sway when the winds of adversity push against them. Godly leaders stand firm in the faith. They do their best to operate in unconditional love always ready for reconciliation as long as it doesn’t compromise BD.
Godly leaders recognize the timing of God, they do not push or prod others to invade personal privacy or get involved in attacking others.
Godly leaders become familiar with the Supreme Court of Heaven and living within the framework of the Royal Family Honor Code.
