One college offers an outdoor adventures degree which teaches you how to use the great outdoors to expose people to challenging adventures, personal growth and self-discovery.
With this coveted degree one can do Social services, victim rights advocacy, social justice and activism, LGBTQ rights organizing.
No PT should ever say: well I have learned it all. No one can teach me anything new, I know it all.
How can you really love someone unless you know them. Moreover, really the more you love someone the more you will want to know all about them, right?
People are willing to spend all that time and money and sweat and whatever else to learn about their passion.
Why is it that many believers in the LORD Jesus Christ are not willing to spend the same time and energy learning about their creator?
The word here for master is used only here in the book of LUK and it is used 7 times (the number of completion).
HE was just starting to gather HIS Disciples, HE was fishing for them, and HE first finds these fisherman who were fishing for fish but, they would become fisherman of people armed with the Salvation offer of Christ.
The nets were made of linen and were large so they could be strong. (No Nylon nets were yet in existence). So, the fisherman would return at dawn and unload their catch. However, as fisherman know that is not the end of your day.
Maybe Peter was excited to hear this teacher, this Rabbi, maybe he had heard of Jesus, as far as I know it is not mentioned. Maybe something was stirring in Peter and this man the LORD has the answer. It seems this is the first time they met.
There will be those times when we may feel the same, right? We may get tired, frustrated, we don’t want to let down the nets again. But, the LORD always has a plan, that we can all agree, is better than any plan we have. So we let down the nets again and get back into HIS plan for our life.
HE knew the reward for their service. And that reward was far more than just the fish, for they would leave the large haul of fish and their boats and their nets to follow HIM to be counted as one of the Apostles.
LUK 6:38, Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
And Peter has two books in the Bible named for him. And was a mentor to Mark who wrote a Gospel.
The LORD only needs our availability, let HIM worry about the rest.
Do the little things faithfully and the LORD gives the greater things. To those who say well all I can do is the little things, do those things faithfully and the LORD will use those little thing for HIS story. In HIS hands those little things are a part of a big thing. We start with ourselves, then that adds to the strength of the remnant we call the pivot.
Latin: scientia potentia. Which is really, science equals potential but, we say knowledge is power. But knowledge is not power automatically, knowledge must be applied to have power. Knowledge has a potential. The same is true with Bible doctrine.
So, we as believers are connected to our creator to the LORD and we learn about HIM through our experience, our prayer life, through the Word of GOD, Bible Doctrine, the mind of the LORD Jesus Christ.
Each link is forged in Bible class under you prepared PT. Each link in that chain is forged by line upon line, precept upon precept learned Bible Doctrine. Each link is also forged by experience, in knowing and remembering how the LORD has come through over and over again.
Each link is also forged by Prayer…
JER 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Adversity is inevitable, the stress is completely optional. But you can’t just say well I’m not gonna be stressed. You need that BD, you need that anchor chain.
Prior to the Cross, the access to GOD came through sacrifices and rituals and the LORD Jesus Christ appeared to man and the HS temporarily dwelt in man
