Point 4. The Warnings of the Lord to the Lukewarm Believer Concerning Shame.
“Amen” – connotes the idea of finality or the one with the last word.
“Faithful and True Witness” – He stripped them of false securities, appearances, pretentiousness, rationalizations and excuses.
HEB 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth,” (JOH 17:17).
“deeds” erga works, productions, accomplishments or deeds.
“psuchros” unbelievers or believers who provide refreshment for the weary.
“zestos” believers who have lived in Gods predesigned plan and who have utilized grace and advanced to maturity
LUK 6:40 “A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully trained, will be like his teacher.”
PHM 1:19 “I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand, I will repay it (so that I do not have to mention to you that you owe to me even your own self as well).”
ACT 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved”
The solution for the hot believer is very simple also because he has the problem solving devices made available through his relationship with God.
2TI 2:14 “Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to dispute over nonessential matters, which is useless, and leads to the ruin of the hearers.”
2PE 1:13 “And I consider it my solemn duty, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of repetition,”
REV 4:11 “Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory.”
EPH 4:1 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love,”
Warning is one of he most unproductive types of teaching.
Having wrong priorities, a poor scale of values, having very little understanding of life, and in some cases maximum scar tissue, and even hardness of the heart.
Those who are cold and those who are hot.
There is no immediate problem solving for those who are lukewarm.
It requires that you make daily decisions under the pressures and the adversities of various categories of divine discipline as well as self-induced misery.
There is no “instant solution” for the Laodicean believer, category lukewarm.
The person in this world who is most disoriented to life is that believer in TLJC who is categorized as lukewarm.
