This is the life that Christ wants you to find. The resurrection life - living in time as a believer who is already in heaven as a winner believer.

When we understood His values by means of the Holy Spirit we saw their surpassing value and desired to replace our old values that were in our soul with His values.

Press on - dioko = to pursue in a hostile manner, to run a race swiftly so as to reach the goal.

Matt 10:39 "He who has found his life [psuche - soul] shall lose it, and he who has lost his life [psuche - soul] for My sake [because of Me] shall find it.

It’s not about changing a lifestyle [that will follow] but a change in what your soul values.

To change what your soul values you have to be humble enough to know that repetition is necessary to safeguard your soul from the false doctrine that will lead you back to the old values.

False doctrine and legalism will destroy your discovery of the real fulfilled you that God desired and designed for you in EP.

PM/BD is the way you glory in the life system that has been passed down to us through Christ.

Many believers don’t want to lose the old life because they continue to have confidence in it.

ROM 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned

JER 17:9
The heart is more deceitful than all else
And is desperately sick;
Who can understand it?

The old values of the old life are counted as loss because Christ entered the life and revealed to the soul that there is something that is available to every believer that goes way beyond those old values and that old life.

"rubbish" - skubala (plural) = dung, refuse, waste.

The old values are replaced by the surpassing value of knowing Christ, which is knowing His person, His work, and His system of life in the first advent - the PPOG.

"surpassing value" is the present active participle - huperechousa - to be above, to excel, to be superior. The knowledge of Christ is superior to all that we valued before salvation and doctrine.

This is the greatest challenge that God has given to any creature - the Church-age believer.

This is a result of valuing Christ’s life above our old Adamic lives. Peace and prosperity of the heart and mind that goes way beyond anything you ever thought was possible.

Know Him - the uniqueness of Christ
(endoxasthe = inherent glory)

2Thess 1:12 in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified (endoxasthe) in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Know Him - the uniqueness of Christ (endoxasthe = inherent glory)

Power of His resurrection - application of the spiritual life leading to inheritance (EPH 1:18-20)

EPH 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

EPH 1:19 and what is the surpassing [huperballo = surpass in throwing] greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might

EPH 1:20 which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,

Fellowship of His sufferings - relationship to undeserved suffering that will reveal the power of surpassing values - they succeed in the direst of circumstances.

Conformed to His death - experiential crucifixion of the old values

The fellowship of His sufferings and being conformed to His death can only happen in time. Only in time can you understand the surpassing value of them and therefore only in time can you fully come to an understanding of the life of Christ in your own heart.
