The main difference between our God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the coward god of the Muslims.

Thursday, December 20, 2001

1. Go back and submit to the authority because authority needs to be honored and respected even when it is wrong.

2. Authority is the legal power delegated by God under the laws of divine establishment whereby certain members of the human race have jurisdiction and responsibility over others.

3. Authority exists in both temporal and spiritual realms.

The Holy Spirit places the individual with a particular group of believers, JOH 10:2-3, ACT 20:28; 1PE 5:3.

The Holy Spirit establishes the Pastor with the right congregation over the years, 2CO 1:21.

The Holy Spirit has one pastor-teacher per congregation, Rev 2-3.
The pastor-teacher has one right congregation; 2CO 10:13-16, 1PE 5:3, ACT 20:28.

Pastors who are in line with this principle do not exchange pulpits, and sheep who are adjusted do not follow strangers, JOH 10:5; 2TI 4:3.

Your right pastor teacher does not have to be face to face, PHI 2:12, 2Jo, 3Jo.

The Philippians had letters from Paul, but today believers have other sources – tapes, videos, radio, television, Internet, written material, etc.

4. Authority was an issue at the fall and a part of man’s fall.

The woman failed in the garden under two principles of authority, the word of God and the man, who was ruler of the world and the woman under category two love, 1TI 2:11-12.

5. There are many areas of authority in life that need to be recognized and submitted to.

Authority of divine institutions.

1. Your own volition for self-discipline.
2. The husband over the wife.
3. Parents over the children.
4. Government over the people.

Academic authority – The teacher, or the professor, or the administrator.

One of the tragedies in athletics is lack of authority – the manager and the coach.

Business – the executives or the employers. The military – the superior officers.

Divine laws have been established over nature, and nature obeys God, MAT 8:27, MAR 4:41, LUK 8:25.

TLJC controls the universe through His authority and power, HEB 1:3, JOH 1:3, COL 1:16-17.

PRO 30:21-22 Under three things the earth quakes [disorder and confusion and chaos results], And under four, it cannot bear up: when a person with no capacity is put in a position of authority, when a fool is satisfied with his self-indulgence,

PRO 30:23 When a woman, who is hated or despised by others, rules her husband or when a female slave tries to take the place of her mistress.

Omnipotence means all-powerful and limitless in ability.

He is called “God Almighty,” GEN 17:1.
Nothing is too difficult for Him, GEN 18:14.

“Why is there so much evil and sin in the world?” Because of freedom.

There will come a time when sin and evil and wickedness will never function again, REV 21:4.

PSA 24:8 He is the King of glory. The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.

LEV 26:7 But you will chase your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword;

LEV 26:8 five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

GEN 3:14 And the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly shall you go, And dust shall you eat All the days of your life;”

REV 6:14 And the sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

REV 6:15 And the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains;

PSA 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

PSA 144:15 How happy are the people who are so situated; How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

1KI 18:27 Elijah mocked them and said, “Call out with a loud voice to your god; either he is occupied or sitting on the toilet, or maybe he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and needs to be awakened.”

1SA 17:47 “the battle is the Lord’s”
EXO 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

ISA 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

Our God “Trains our hands for battle,” 2SA 22:25.
PSA 144:1 – our Lord trains our hands for war, and our fingers for battle;

The power and the authority of our God is that ability and strength whereby He can bring to pass whatsoever He pleases, whatsoever His infinite wisdom may direct, and whatsoever His justice may resolve.

ROM 9:20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it?

ROM 9:21 Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use, and another for common use?
