A story that is the basis for every other story ever written, every other story ever imagined because it is the basis for every story. It is the greatest adventure story, the greatest mystery story, the greatest comedy, the greatest love story ever written.

The old sign was
“today is the first day of the rest of your life…”

In GEN 1:26-27 we are told man was made in the image (likeness) of GOD. Made in the image of GOD.
What does this mean?

With whom is GOD talking with? Why?
Certainly, GOD doesn’t need to get any advice from anyone. HE doesn’t need to consult with anyone.

GEN 2:1, Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts (Angels).

GEN 1:26 A discussion must have taken place within the GODhead. A discussion that was between GOD the Father and GOD the Son, and GOD the Holy Spirit.

Three persons in one Godhead. So, there is One true GOD, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three coequal, coeternal persons.
Since each person of the Trinity has the same essence, GOD is described as one; but they are different as persons.

2CO 13:14, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God [the Father], and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.”

The most excellent of all GOD’s works to be sure, capable of glorifying the Father, and because of free will, man is also capable of the most terrible of acts.

Man is thus not the result of spontaneous reorganization of molecules in the Green ooze. Nor is he derived by evolution from any animal or lower species (as theistic evolutionists teach), but man is a direct gift from GOD.
Evolution is a religion masquerading as a science.

By the sixth day of Creation the foundation of the world had been completed including the creation of man. With that creation, man, GOD was about to initiate a chain of events that would lead to the future and the centerpost of the universe, the crucifixion and death of the LORD Jesus Christ on the Cross as an atonement for the sin of mankind.

A brain and tongue capable of articulate, symbolic loyal glorifying speech (well sometimes anyway).
As great as man is and as capable of doing Divine good, man is also capable of doing the devil’s bidding as well.

GOD gave man emotions capable of responding to GOD and to other members of the human race and to other creations in love and devotion,
a will which enabled him to choose whether or not to obey GOD.

GEN 1:28, God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue (kah bash) it, (bring into bondage) and rule (have dominion) over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

This is not something that the natural man can bring about by his own efforts, but is only done through our receiving Christ in faith and repentance.
JOH 1:12, But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

It follows then that there is a part of GOD’s nature that is within man and that it follows that man longs to connect with the One Who created him.

ECC 3:11 that the Creator has set in His creation (man) the desire for eternity (GOD).
There is that GOD shaped vacuum.

Satan and the KOD are only to pleased to provide as many false religions as man desires. All religions that do not teach the Christ, the risen Messiah are false religions. And many that do teach Christ go off the rails of truth and create their own rules and doctrines.

1TI 4:1, The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.

The truth of the matter is that many attempt to fill it (that desire) with things other than GOD and GODly things.
JER 17:9, describes the condition of our hearts: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

We strengthen the OSN every time we are out of fellowship with GOD. Everytime we continue to live outside of the plan of GOD for our life. We strengthen the new nature when we are filled with the HS and thus make decisions that are inside of the plan of GOD for our life.

ROM 8:7, For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to GOD, for it does not submit to GOD’s law; indeed, it cannot.

Sadly, too many people spend their lives looking for something other than GOD to fill their longing for GOD.
As you would imagine, that doesn’t end well.

But in pursuing these things that are not eternal, they will remain unfulfilled and wonder why their lives never seem to be fulfilling.

ECC 12:13, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear (respect) GOD and keep his commandments, for this is the whole [duty] of man”.

It is amazing that Moses had the LORD standing right beside him, more amazing is that we have HIM abiding in us.

Then we also have a battle between man’s old sin nature which doesn’t want to live in those things and the new nature we have in Christ that does.
Thus, the ultimate battle between good and evil. And we can see the importance of living in the plan of GOD, staying filled with the Spirit, taking in the Word of GOD, utilizing the PSD’s, strengthening our prayer life.

The bigger the problem you face, always look first for the simplest solution.

The KOD wants to prevent man from experiencing that solution…to distract        man form that simple solution.

Satan and the KOD have 2 main goals: 1. Stop man from knowing and accepting the Gospel.
2. If man does accept the Gospel then Satan and the KOD goal is to stop them from achieving their destiny.

After Salvation we are to fulfill our destiny. The epic story contains our destiny.
That’s our destiny! To know HIM and live the plan HE has for our life. To speak to HIM as a friend speaks to a friend. Satan will do all he can to prevent believers from fulfilling their destiny.

GOD desires the highest and best for us and our destiny is specially designed for each one of us.

Don’t under estimate your destiny’s impact in those around you and those who come after you.

EPH 1:3-4, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who as blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.

HEB 11:24-25, faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

We are a part of the great epic story of our Savior, we are made in HIS image.
It is wired within
us, it is our destiny.
No greater example of destiny exists than that of our Messiah. HIS destiny would be fulfilled as the redeemer of the world on the Cross, Reconciling mankind to their creator if they simply believe.
Providing the solution to man’s most difficult problem. How to be reconciled with the creator.
