tous [the] echthrous – used here to describe reversionistic believers under the influence of evil.
Echthros enemies and hateful toward others, (passively, disgusting, or actively, hostile);
As a noun, it can refer to an adversary (especially Satan): or others opposing others, opposing (God) in the mind.
“tou staurou” referring to the cross or crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
“tou Christou” the uniqueness of the person of Christ
PHI 3:18 “For many keep walking, concerning whom I have warned you many times, and now continue to affirm, even weeping, that they have made themselves the enemies of the cross of that same Christ.”
Turn to ROM 5:12
Real spiritual death, which is separation from God in a state of sin.
Substitutionary spiritual death, which is separation from God in a state of perfection and impeccability.
Real spiritual death, which is separation from God in a state of sin.
When Adam died spiritually, he entered into a state of total separation from God.
Adams spiritual death was demonstrated by the fact that when Jesus Christ came in the garden, Adam hid himself from God.
The substitutionary spiritual death of Christ on the cross was separation from God in a state of total perfection and impeccability.
Turn to 2CO 5:14
Our Lords sacrificial or substitutionary spiritual death on the cross brings eternal life to everyone in the human race that will believe in Him.
ROM 14:4 “Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.”
HEB 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
HEB 10:17 “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
MIC 7:18-19 “pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession and cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
If He has removed our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west, PSA 103:12, I am an enemy of the cross if I deny or reject or ignore this principle.
ISA 38:17c “For You have cast all their sins behind their back.”
PSA 103:10 “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.”
PSA 65:3b “As far our transgressions Thou dost forgive them.”
COL 2:13 “…He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us ALL our transgressions,”
ISA 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake. Furthermore, I will not remember your sin.”
PSA 85:2 “You did forgive the iniquity of Your people; you did cover All their sin.”
EZE 16:63 “I will forgive you for ALL that you have done.”
ROM 4:7-8 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.”
