Meet the true enemies of the cross of Christ, Part 2.

Sunday, December 3, 2000

PHI 3:18For many keep walking, concerning whom I have warned you many times, and now continue to affirm, even weeping, the enemies of the cross of Christ,”

Attic Greek was the dialect of Athens during the “golden years” of classical Greek (4th-5th centuries BC).

Ellipsis = the omission of a word or phrase to intensify and indicate how the writer feels about what he is about to express.

tous [the] echthros [enemies] tou [of the] staurou [cross] tou [of the] Christou [Christ].

DEU 23:2A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD;” KJV

HEB 12:8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” KJV

Substitutionary spiritual death is separation from God in a state of perfection and impeccability.

Real spiritual death applies to Adams original sin and the status quo of the human race at the point of physical birth.

To become an enemy of the cross is to deny or reject or ignore many of these principles that God dealt with for man through TLJC on the cross.

Only the perfect, impeccable humanity of Christ became our substitute when He received the imputation and judgment for all sins in human history.

When any of us make an issue out of other peoples sins, we are forgetting about the fact that God the Father already dealt with those sins on the cross.

To be an enemy of the cross of Christ is to count peoples trespasses or sins against them.

Turn to ROM 14:4

He was judged for the sins of the entire world, and therefore He dealt with the sin issue, once and for all.

HEB 10:10By His will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
HEB 10:14For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”

To reject human good and evil, called dead works in HEB 6:1.

If God the Father says For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more, HEB 8:17.

HEB 10:17And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more,”

MIC 7:18-19pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession and cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”

If He has removed our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west, PSA 103:12, I am an enemy of the cross if I deny or reject or ignore this principle.

If ISA 38:17c For You have cast all their sins behind their back.

God doesnt deal with us according to our sins, nor pay us back according to our iniquities, PSA 103:10.

PSA 65:3Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, Thou dost forgive them.”

COL 2:13He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,”

ISA 43:25I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake [because of my honor and integrity]. Furthermore, I will not remember your sins.”

PSA 85:2You did forgive the iniquity of Your people; you did cover all their sin.”

Turn to EZE 16:62

ROM 4:7Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven and whose sins have been covered. “Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.”

1JO 2:12Your sins are forgiven for His names sake.”

JOH 3:16For God loved the world so much that He gave His Son, the unique One, that whoever believes in Him shall never perish but have eternal life.”
