Apekdechomai eagerly wait with anticipation, wait eagerly with patience, anticipate with patience, to wait for expectantly, or intensely.
Happiness in life is not a set of pleasant circumstances; but the ability to be confident and secure with all the circumstances surrounding you.

spirit – pneuma = “a state of mind.”
Slaves always live in fear of something, fear of punishment, fear of retribution, retaliation, revenge, etc.
“again” go back to the way things use to be without the Lord and the truth that sets us free.
2PE 2:22 “It has happened to them according to the true proverb, A dog returns to its own vomit, and, A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”
GAL 5:1 “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”
HEB 2:15 “and He might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.”
The ability to face and understand and recognize true reality in life.
The “Spirit Himself” = God the Holy Spirit.
“Bearing witness with our spirit,” – our human spirit.
The Holy Spirit does not bear witness with our emotions but with our human spirit, the area where the word of God, Bible doctrine is stored.
The human spirit is the immaterial part of man designed by God to convert, to store, and to utilize spiritual phenomena.
JOB 32:8 “But it is the spirit in man [believer] and the Spirit of the Almighty that gives perception.”
He transfers the doctrine to our human soul which orients us to time and temporal things.
He transfers the doctrine to our human spirit which orients us to eternal life related to our eternal relationship with God.
Life orientation Eternal life orientation found in such doctrines as election, foreknowledge, and predestination.
1TI 4:8 “for physical discipline is only of little profit, but spiritual living is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
We also become slaves to eternal life through legalism and adding works to the spiritual life.
1CO 11:31 “But if we judged ourselves rightly, we should not be judged.”
HEB 4:1 “Therefore, let us fear lest, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.”
Heirs – kleronomos, has a two-fold meaning:
1. Inheritance in time
2. Inheritance in eternity.
All heirs do not inherit.
