The motivation for eagerly anticipating our Savior coming back from heaven, Part 7.
Wednesday, February 28, 2001
Paul is excited about the analogy between the suffering of nature and the suffering of the mature believer.
When a believer who is PTD is advancing to spiritual maturity, there are little spots of undeserved suffering along the way.
Aparchen something that is extremely valuable, first fruit offerings, the activity of the Spirit in time to the mature believer.
Groan pres-act-ind stenazo to groan, to sigh, to express intense inward feelings of heaviness or sorrow.
Adoption huiothesian to become an adult son, to be recognized as the heir of a family.
The redemption of our soul; PSA 34:22 “The Lord redeems the soul of His servants;”
The groaning in this verse is not the groaning of pain but the groaning of anticipation.
Hope elpis to give us complete confidence with regard to any disaster.
1TH 4:13 “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as do the rest who have no hope.”
We have absolute confidence that we have eternal life, ROM 8:23,
Titus 1:2 “in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,”
Second hope if we continue with PMA of BD, we will eventually reach spiritual maturity and receive the imputation of divine blessings.
The mature believer doesnt hope for blessings, he already has that, so he has to have another hope, and that hope is found in the redemption of our body.
PHI 1:21 “For me, living is Christ, likewise dying is profit.”
PSA 27:4 “One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to meditate in His temple.”
JOH 7:24 “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
“Perseverance” hupomone patience, enduring fortitude, courage.
