Surah 8:59-60Let not the unbelievers think that they can get the better (of the godly): they will never frustrate (them). Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into the hearts of the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly.
Surah 16:112 Allah sets forth a Parable: a city enjoying security and quiet, abundantly supplied with sustenance from every place: Yet was it ungrateful for the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste of hunger and terror because of the evil which its people wrought.
Surah 8:12 I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.

2TI 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a stable mind.”
Abram can believe what God says and have perfect happiness and perfect inner peace, or he can live in the natural minded man, and try the human solution over the divine solution.
ROM 4:20-21 “yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief, but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.”
A promise is no greater than the person who makes the promise.
The person is sovereign, righteous, just, loving, eternal, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, immutable and true God.
Abram was 85 at the time God made this promise to him. He will be 100 when the promise is fulfilled.
Vs. 5-7 = three pictures which serve to illustrate the point that the One who made the promises has the ability to keep them.
The stars illustrate the fact that God has the ability to solve Abraham’s problems.
God has established a traffic pattern in the universe; while moving at great speed, millions and billions of stars follow a perfect pattern.
COL 1:16 “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things have been created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”
HEB 1:3 “He upholds all things by the word of His power.”
PSA 55:22 “Cast your burden upon the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.”
JOH 20:31 “but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.”

Gen1:16 “He made the stars also.”
