BBE –
LUK 12:48 The man to whom much is given, will have to give much; if much is given into his care, of him more will be requested.
CEV –
LUK 12:48 If God has been generous with you, He will expect you to serve Him well. But if He has been more than generous, He will expect you to serve him even better.
Aphiemi – “forgive” = to give up resentment, excuse a guilty party, to forget an offense never bringing it up again, not even to discuss it.
MAL 3:16 “Then those who respected the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance [including your attendance] was written before Him for those who respected the Lord and who esteem His name.”
PSA 19:13 Also keep back Thy servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of the great transgression.
MAR 9:41 “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because of your name as followers of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”
Many of you have had the PRIVILEGE of the opportunity to overcome the hindrances and obstacles that Satan and his kingdom of darkness placed in your path and that you had to overcome.
God has been preparing all of us, as a body of believers, to learn the importance of one word – LOVE.
Taking care of your soul first, your relationship with God first, and then your household, your family, your church, your ministry, your nation, etc.
LUK 24:47 “And that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.”
LUK 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”
People who recognize their OWN sins and their OWN flaws, faults, and failures, are the ones who make the best ambassadors for Jesus Christ.
Those who are forgiven of much, or really, those who realize and recognize how much they have been forgiven of, “love much.”
We must take care of the areas closest to us before we can take care of those who are at a distance.
It is a picture of a believer getting “burnt out” from serving others but not setting aside enough time to serve or nourish themselves through the intake of doctrine, and then prayer and fellowship with God.
HEB 11:6b He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
1CO 7:23 You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.
Our Lord taught us to fulfill the Father’s plan, glorify God in the angelic conflict, and do not let others hinder you from your calling and your personal sense of destiny.
LUK 14:18, business, house;
LUK 14:19, marriage;
LUK 14:26, parents, children, family, friends;
MAT 10:35, in-laws; your own life, lusts, desires, goals, aspirations, and dreams, etc.
Spiritually, it refers to the blossoming vines spoken of in verse 13, vines representing bearing the fruit of spiritual life.
Big foxes go after the fruit of the vine, but little foxes break the tender vine branches. When damage is done by big foxes, you still have a chance to bear some fruit, but with the damage done by little foxes, the chance of bearing fruit is almost destroyed.
If certain areas of our life are unwatched or unguarded now, the little things can ruin the spiritual life.
Every detail of life or any other little thing in you life, such as beginning to miss class, or losing your fervency for the things of God, or becoming familiar with the pastor or the body of Christ – these are the little foxes.
In the analogy given in this passage, it is the little foxes that hide themselves behind the vines that destroy the vineyard, or the spiritual life. Don’t let the little things spoil your spiritual life, the petty things, personality conflicts, etc.
Don’t let the details of life and, even more importantly, the pressures of serving God, draw life out of you; instead, be renewed by the intake of doctrine and the power of prayer.
We need to have a deposit made before we make a withdrawal.
The secret to loving is living as one who knows he is loved.
EPH 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
MAT 7:26-27 “And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall.”
We can, simply by abiding in the One who is love and learning the way He thinks.
JOH 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither {can} you, unless you abide in Me.”
1CO 15:10 Bob is what he is by the grace of God.
PHI 1:6 Bob is confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in Bob is going perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus, the rapture.
PHI 2:13 for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who is at work in Bob,
ROM 8:29 For God foreknew Bob and also predestined Bob to become conformed to the image of His Son,
The integrity of God includes His righteousness, justice, and love. The divine decree foresaw all the events that would occur in human and angelic history, and made them all certain.
God is love, and love is the motivation of God’s integrity. God’s love is His eternal giving or sharing of Himself. This love extended itself, stretched out its hands all the way down to the hill of the Cross.
PHI 2:8 In fact, although having being discovered in outward appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of spiritual death, that is the death of the cross.
You come into this world with the odds stacked against you, with Adam’s original sin imputed to the genetically formed old sin nature at the moment of birth.
JER 31:3 The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”
You watch God loving you day after day and over time, slowly, eventually, you learn from Him and you learn that the right thing to do is love yourself. The wayward love of your heart has found its rightful Owner.
God said it first.
The secret to love is virtue, which must begin with personal love for God the Father, which is the foundation for impersonal love for all mankind.
“Put on” – aor-mid-imp – enduo = “to dress up.”
Middle voice = subject participates in the results of the action.
Imperative mood = command to all believers.
“Beloved” (not a noun) – perf-pass-part – agapao = mental attitude love =
“having been loved.”
Every believer is loved by God the Father with the same amount of love that He has for Jesus Chris
