The new things that have come; the principle of equality in election and predestination. Part 4.
Sunday, December 6, 2009
2CO 5:17, Therefore if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things have lost their power; behold or [now hear this - look now] something new which has never existed before has come].
a. The baptism of the Spirit.
b. The second new thing which has come that has never existed before is the PPOG and a personal sense of destiny.
c. The phenomenal portfolio of invisible assets.
d. The unique equality factor of election and predestination.
Under the principle of election, God wills His highest and His best for each believer.
Under the principle of predestination, God has provided a plan for all believers to have His highest and best, both in time and the eternal state.
Predestination is the provision of the sovereign will of God for you in eternity past to provide His fantastic plan, purpose and will for your life.
JOB 23:14, He performs what is appointed for me, And many such decrees are with Him.
1TH 5:24, Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
Predestination is God saying, “I have a plan for you to receive what I have elected you for.”
Under the principle of equality, all of us have been given the privilege of being entrusted with certain responsibilities from God.
We are His workmanship or His new creation.
Workmanship is the noun poiema meaning something made new or created out of nothing.
EPH 4:24, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
COL 3:10, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.
EPH 2:10 For we are His workmanship,
When we live under the unique equality factor of predestination and election, we are His workmanship or His production.
Created in Christ Jesus for good works,
The word for good is agathos which means good of intrinsic or inherent value.
And the word works is the plural of ergon and it means works or accomplishments.
EPH 2:10 .... which God prepared beforehand,
EPH 2:10, For we are His production [when we live inside the PPOG] having been created in Christ Jesus [baptism of Holy Spirit], for the purpose of good accomplishments which God has prepared in advance that we should walk in them."
The word walk
aor-act-subj of the verb peripateoo which means maybe we will walk in them maybe we will not. It does not mean that God makes things happen in spite of man’s choices.
Some succeed, Some fail;
Some are winning, Some are losing;
Some are under discipline, some are under blessing;
Some are living the zoe life, some are living toward the sin unto death.
This is a picture of the Lord’s ascension into heaven as one going into a distant country.
They all received the same thing, or as we would say equal privilege and equal opportunity.
2PE 1:1, Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours,
Every believer starts with the same kind of faith but none of us end up that way.
The Lord bestows privileges on His servants and demands faithfulness in return and rewards for that faithfulness will be given at the JSOC or the bema seat judgment.
MAT 6:20, “But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;”
MAT 19:21, “if you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
They all received the same thing representing equal privileges and the fact that those who use these privileges will be rewarded for what they did with them.
Believers are in the devil’s world and they will have difficulties living the Christian way of life, the life they have been predestined to live.
They will be mocked and rejected and hated if they live under the principle of predestination or what they have been predestined to live in.
1PE 2:21, For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,
2TI 3:12, And indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
The nobleman commanded his servants to appear before him to give an account of what they gained through trading with the deposit during his absence.
“Master, YOUR mina has made ten minas!”
He didn’t say, “I Made ten minas!”
The unique equality factor of predestination is the means of receiving your escrow blessings but God has provided both and is the one who deserves all the glory.
PSA 115:1, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us, But to Thy name give glory Because of Thy grace, because of Thy doctrine.”
1CO 4:7, For who regards you as superior? And what do you have that you did not receive? But if you did receive it, why do you brag or strut as if you had not received it?
The Christian steward can only glorify his master, because he has no basis to glorify himself.
LUK 17:10, “So you too, when you do all the things which are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’”
Note that his promotion to a greater service was based on the degree of fruitfulness in his previous service.
They differed from each other in the diligence displayed.
This depicts the fact of preparing ourselves in time for authority and rulership in the kingdom.
The Lord we serve notices both the quantity and the quality of what is done for Him.
Handkerchief is the noun soudarion referring to something that is used to cover a corpse.
Many believers treat their unique equality factor of predestination like nothing but death.
This is a picture of the “sin of omission” which is the sin of not doing something that you should be doing.
MAT 25:26, “You wicked, lazy slave.”
The average person finds it difficult to understand why God prospers and multiplies certain ministries or some individuals.
GEN 50:20, “And as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.”
DEU 23:5b, “The Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you.”
EXO 1:12, But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out, so that they were in dread of the sons of Israel.
