The new things that have come;  The Royal Ambassadorship and the Royal Priesthood. Part 3.

A. For example, there is the family priesthood which functioned under which the patriarch of the family functioned as the priest for the family.

B. Secondly, there was what is known
as the Levitical priesthood of Israel. This priesthood is limited to the Jewish age and the Millennium.

C. The royal priesthood.
During the Church-age, Jesus Christ is our High Priest.
We are in union with Christ; we are royal priests, 1PE 2:5,9.

As a royal priest, every Church-age believer represents himself before God.

The royal priesthood is the basis for the believer’s spiritual privacy in which He lives His own life before the Lord,
ROM 14:4,10; 2TH 3:11-12.

ROM 14:4, Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

ROM 14:10, But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God.

Under the royal priesthood it is important to note that the faithful intake of Bible doctrine, which is the basis for spiritual growth, is a priestly function.

Spiritual growth is a result of the believer-priest’s function before God.

ISA 28:9, Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

ISA 28:10, For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

In the earlier priesthoods the setting for the priest’s took place on mountains with material, in tents over the Tabernacles, Temples and upon Physical altars.

GEN 22:14, And Abraham called the name of that place on the mountain Jehovahjireh: as the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

GEN 31:54, Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain,

EXO 25:8, “And let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.”

EXO 25:9, “According to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall construct it.”

1CH 29:1 Then King David said to the entire assembly, “My son Solomon, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and inexperienced and the work is great; for the temple is not for man, but for the Lord God.”

REV 21:3, And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He shall dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them,”

In the Church-age, the setting is in God’s predesigned plan and the altar is the believer’s very own soul;
HEB 13:9.

HEB 13:9, Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were thus occupied were not benefited.

A-Millennialism
The false belief that there will be no millennium--no one thousand year
reign of Christ and His saints on earth.

Other interesting references can be found in
2TI 2:11-13, Luke 19:17-19, and REV 5:10 (just to name a few).

LUK 19:17, “And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have been faithful in a very little thing, be in authority over ten cities.’

LUK 19:19, “And he said to him also, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’

Most a-millennialists steal God’s kingdom promises to Israel and apply them to the church today.
