The new things that have come; The Royal Ambassadorship and the Royal Priesthood. Part 5.
Wednesday, December 16, 2009
The fifth principle of doctrine as a part of the new things which have come that have never existed before
The two unique Royal Commissions: The Royal Priesthood and the Royal Ambassadorship.
The basis of our priestly function of our spiritual growth is the faithful intake of Bible doctrine.
Spiritual growth is a result of the believer-priest not putting the cart before the horse.
Now the setting or the temple of God is the believer’s physical body inside of God’s predesigned plan and the altar is the believer’s very own soul; 1CO 3:16-17; 16:19-20.
1PE 3:15, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
HEB 13:9-10, Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, through which those who were thus occupied were not benefited. We have an altar, from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.
1. A-Millennialism
This is the false belief that there will be no millennium--no one thousand year reign of Christ and His saints on earth.
REV 20:1-7 tells us that there WILL be a millennial reign.
2. Annihilation - the belief that the wicked will be totally destroyed at some point in the future, and that no ETERNAL place of torment exists.
3. The Apostolic Signs and Wonders.
MAR 16:17-18, And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly {poison,} it shall not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
The Charismatics operate under the false assumption that these signs (MAR 16:17-18), are still in effect today and that it is THEIR duty to fulfill them.
1CO 1:22, For indeed Jews ask for signs,
Israel began with signs, ROM 4:11, Abraham received the sign of circumcision. (Exodus, DEU 4:34; 6:22).
They lived by signs; DEU 11:18; JOS 4:6; 1SA 10:7; 2KI 19:29; ISA 7:14.
DEU 11:18-19, we read “You shall therefore impress these words of mine on your heart and on your soul; and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.”
ISA 7:14, Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
They demanded signs from Christ, MAT 12:38; 24:3.
The average believer doesn’t know a thing about the new spiritual species because he is too busy cleaning up the old man to make him presentable to the Lord, which is an impossibility.
Our Lord spoke on the worthlessness of self-reformation,
MAT 12:43-45.
Her life and her actions will be used to illustrate the extremes to what positive volition to know God’s word will go through.
He said, something greater, not someone greater, although He is! He was referring to something in reference to the teaching of grace and truth replacing the law or the reality superseding the ritual.
When fully-prepared pastors are not using their spiritual gift in some say, this category of men stand in condemnation of the apostate generation.
God will bless them in other functions of life, and they will stand in judgment against the believers of this generation for their negative volition toward doctrine.
1. The importance of Bible doctrine and the price to pay for it, MAT 12:42, the Queen of Sheba came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom [the doctrine] from Solomon;
2. The worthlessness of self-reformation,
MAT 12:43-45.
Israel began with signs;
Lived by signs;
Demanded signs from Christ;
MAT 12:38;
MAT 24:3-11.
JER 49:23, For they have heard bad news; They are disheartened. There is anxiety by the sea, It cannot be calmed.
PRO 25:25, “Like cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a distant land.”
There is more scripture to support the doctrine of signs being for Israel than there is to support the Virgin Birth and the Inspiration of Scripture combined!
HEB 2:3-4 and you will see that the - signs were used to confirm the word of God, and you will also see that the signs are spoken of in the PAST TENSE. how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,
was confirmed
aor-pass-ind
verb bebaioo,
past tense, not is confirmed (present tense), or will be confirmed (future tense), but has been confirmed.
HEB 2:4, God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.
2CO 12:12, The signs of a true apostle
were performed
among you with all perseverance, by signs and wonders and miracles.
were performed
aor-pass-ind katergazomai
meaning to accomplish, perform, work.
2TI 4:20, Erastus remained at Corinth, but Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.
1TI 5:23, No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.
Why all this sickness if the Apostolic Signs were still in effect?
They WEREN’T still in effect, because they were only needed in the early ministry of the Apostles for the purpose of confirming the truth to Israel.
