The new things that have come: The dispensation of invisible heroes. Part 7.

Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then appropriate the initiative and do it for them.

In verse 10, TLJC uses foot-washing to make a distinction between regeneration, being born again, and then sin and rebound.

The word for knew
pluperfect-act-ind
oida which is edei indicating that TLJC always knew as a manifestation of  His deity that Judas Iscariot would remain an unbeliever billions and billions of years ago.

He also knew it in His humanity because He knew the Scriptures or He knew doctrine, namely the doctrine of the betrayal.

PSA 41:9,  “Even My close friend, in whom I trusted, who ate My bread, has lifted up his heel against Me.”
LUK 22:47-48, While He was still speaking, behold, a multitude came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding them; and he approached Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of man with a kiss?”

PSA 41:9,  “Even my close friend, in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me.”
JOH 13:18, “I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but {it is} that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’”
PSA 118:8, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in man.”

Even concerning those with positions of authority,
PSA 118:9 “It is better to take refuge in the Lord Than to trust in princes.”

JER 17:5, Thus says the Lord, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord.”
GEN 1:27, And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
MAT 12:30, “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.”

a. The pre-historical category called angels
PSA 8:4-6; HEB 2:6,7; 2PE 2:11.

PSA 8:4-5,  “What is man, that thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that thou dost care for him? Yet thou hast made him a little lower than the angels.”
HEB 2:7, “Thou hast made him for a little while lower than the angels.”

2PE 2:11 Whereas angels who are greater in might and power [than human’s] do not bring a reviling judgment against them [those in authority] before the Lord.

PSA 148:2-5, “Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Let them praise the name of the Lord, For He commanded and they were created.”

b. Sometimes rational creatures = the historical category called human beings, mankind, or man.

When it comes to the subject of betrayal, at their creation, all angelic creatures were placed by God as on God’s side (being totally perfect).
They had no choice in the matter.

At physical birth, all mankind was placed by God as not on God’s side (condemned at birth).
We had no choice in the matter.
PSA 51:5,  “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.”
PSA 58:3,  “The wicked are estranged from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.”

As members of the human race, we must assume that as every relationship begins, people are not on our side.

In fact, it is a crisis which reveals allegiance, and provides clarity regarding whose side a person is on.

1JO 2:19, They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us.
1CO 11:19, For there must also be factions among you, in order that those who are approved may have become evident among you.

ECC 4:9-10, Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.
