SIT-WALK-STAND
Pastor Watchman Nee
SIT-WALK-STAND
STAND
The demonstration of an attitude, reflected by firmness and resolve in adherence to a set of principals…to remain upright and resistant in the face of pressure
Sun Tzu in The Art of War
“To fight and to conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme
excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s pressure without fighting.”
PRESSURE
The exertion of force on the surface of an object
SOURCES OF PRESSURE FOR CHRISTIANS
Demon Influence
Cosmic Thought
Sin Nature
SIT-WALK-STAND
Take a STAND
SIT-WALK-STAND
JAM 4:7
Submit therefore to God. (Take a STAND by) Resist(ing) the devil and he will flee from you.
JOB 1:9-10a
Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge (a wall of fire) about him and his house and all that he has, on every side?
2CO 13:5
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith (pistis…bible doctrine); examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you — unless indeed you fail the test?
Bible doctrine is the
one subject where you
do not get an opinion.
2TI 4:3
For the time will come when they (believers in Christ) will not endure sound doctrine;
but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires
2TI 3:7
…always learning and never able to come to the (epignosis) knowledge of the truth.
God’s pattern in His relationship with Satan communicates clearly that there is a time to say
“enough is enough”
in relationships
“Lord… I know that you said that relationships have a finite time period… and I know you said that at a point enough is enough… and I know you said that Satan has come to the end of his finite time period…
and I know in Matthew 25:41 you sentenced Satan and the fallen angels to the lake of fire… but are you saying that if they came back to you, you wouldn’t be a sentimental teddy bear and welcome him back with open arms?”
2PE 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about the Lord Jesus Christ).
Bible doctrine is the
one subject where you
do not get an opinion.
HEB 4:12
The word of God is alive and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit, of the joints and marrow, and is a critic of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Are you asking questions when you take in bible doctrine?

Do you hear the Holy Spirit’s answer?

Are you accepting the answer?

Are you immediately applying the lesson to YOUR life?

POINT ONE
It is for doctrine that we STAND
ISA 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God STANDS forever.
ROM 14:10
For we will all STAND before the judgment seat of God.
1CO 16:13
Be on the alert, STAND firm
in the faith (bible doctrine),
act like men, be strong.
EPH 6:11
… STAND firm against the schemes of the devil.
COL 4:12
… STAND perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
Is bible doctrine my
number one priority?
POINT TWO
Take a STAND
in every decision.
What are the decisions you know you need to make, that you are putting off, that are hindering your spiritual growth?
POINT THREE
Take a STAND in relationships. God’s pattern in His relationship with Satan communicates clearly that there is a time to say “enough is enough” in relationships.
POINT FOUR
Stop fantasizing about how relationships ought to be, and deal with them as they are. And some of them stinketh…
POINT FIVE
Don’t think you’re going to be the only person in the history of mankind with perfect relationships.
MAT 10:34
“Do not think that I (the Lord Jesus Christ) came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
MAT 10:35
For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER
MOTHER-IN-LAW
 MAT 10:36
…and A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.”
POINT SIX
Remember that God loves you and He wants you to love each other.
JOH 13:34-35
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
JOH 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
PSA 37:24
When he (the believer in Christ) falls, he will not be hurled headlong, Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
POINT SEVEN
The Christian Way of Life is not a formula.
GAL 5:1
It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
