2CO 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone [Church-age believer] is in Christ [and they are], he is a new creature or spiritual species the old things [position in Adam, spiritual death] have passed away or lost their power; behold, new things have come [the invisible assets plus the PPOG]."

Part of the old things that have passed away is human good, which is a function of the O.S.N.

There are many ways that the O.S.N. will try to shatter the believer with personal or self-explosion, which occurs from within.

Mystery doctrine for the Church-age is the necessary food of the new creature and without it that nature becomes weak and eventually there occurs self-explosion which results in self-induced misery and divine discipline.

PSA 94:22
But the Lord has been my stronghold,
And my God the rock of my refuge.

In the Church-age the battlefield is your soul. Jesus Christ has won the strategic victory in the AC. Your soul is the battleground of the potential tactical victory.

PSA 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.

The trouble with many believers is that they are not what God has given them to be....they are still living in the old creation.

MAT 9:17 Nor do men put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst,

MAR 2:21 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results.

Don’t forget there is a hole in your heart that God has come into the world to fill with His love. Human good is you trying to fill it yourself.

The torn piece or the patch from the new garment represents the spiritual life for the new creature.

The old garment represented the old sin nature including its weakness and strength and the resultant self-righteous arrogance from legalism.

Just like the Mosaic Law cannot be brought into the Church-age neither can your human wisdom, strength, and power.

ROM 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

The new wine represents the spiritual life of the new creature under the PPOG.

Old wineskins represent any system of legalism or self-righteous arrogance applied to the O.S.N. - human good energy of the flesh.

The new wine of your very own spiritual life cannot exist in an old wineskin of your O.S.N.

The new wineskin is the mystery doctrine of the Church-age, which is the environment and frame of reference for our new creature.

When you feed the new creature with the metabolization of doctrine, you are putting new wine into new wineskins. The new wine is your very own spiritual life; the new wineskin is the new creature filled with metabolized doctrine. The answer to human good is divine good. Divine good is produced in the believer in three ways:

a) The filling of the Spirit — GAL 5:22-23.
b) From the exhale of Bible doctrine from the human spirit — EPH 4:23ff; LUK 2:40-52.
c) From the erection of the edification complex of the soul — JOH 1:14.

JOH 1:14
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

One of the great themes of the Bible is good versus good. Human good versus divine good. Satan produces human good, God produces divine good.
