Pennsylvania Conference 2007. The Church of Laodicea. Part 4.

Good decisions result in options for greater decisions and great blessing.

Bad decisions destroy those options and eventually lead into the sin unto death.

Vs 18 – pres-act-ind – sunbouleuo = to counsel, to give advice, to advise.

You” – dative of advantage – indicates the one in whose interests the act is performed.

Point 1 – If you are positive and your priorities place Bible doctrine first in your scale of values, then counsel for you must be Bible doctrine.

Point 2 – Every believer must make his own decisions, and Bible doctrine perceived gives him options for good decisions.

Point 3 – The ideal counsel or advice comes from epignosis doctrine in your own soul.

Point 4 – There are three categories of counseling from the standpoint of Bible doctrine.

a. Perception, metabolization, and application of Bible doctrine to your life.

b. Counseling through the utilization of agape love.

c. The third area of counseling is from divine discipline.

1) The one counseling you may be someone you admire or respect; however, they may not be mature and therefore they will probably give you wrong advice.

2) The second hazard is the fact that counseling demands a compromise with certain areas of your privacy.

3) The counselor may have some prejudice which destroys the objectivity of his advice.

4) The fourth hazard – The believer being counseled might start leaning on the counselor and using him as a crutch.

Aorist tense – ingressive aorist = the action signified by the verb is considered at its beginning and therefore it refers to re-entrance into the pre-designed plan of God.

These three things:
1} The filling of the Holy Spirit
2} Agape love or a relaxed mental attitude
3} Teachability
support the function of the next thing coming up – buying gold.

Some believers are going to simply have a resurrection body and that is all.

Some will have the incorruptible crown for mastering the old sin nature, 1CO 9:25.

Some will have the crown of rejoicing for being soul winners, 1TH 2:19.

Some will have the crown of life for enduring trials, heartaches, disasters and coming out glorifying the Lord,JAM 1:12.

Some will have the crown of righteousness for loving His appearing or being totally occupied with the Lord Jesus Christ, 2TI 4:8.

Some will have the crown of glory for being willing to feed the flock of God, 1PE 5:4.

What is even greater than that is the Order of the Morning Star,
REV 2:28.

The new Order of Knighthood, the new gallantry for bravery and courage, REV 3:12.

They are going to have the Uniform of Glory,
REV 2:23; REV 3:5.

They are going to have the coat of arms of our Lord, REV 3:12.

They are going to be kings, REV 1:5.

They are going to rule on the earth for 1,000 years, REV 20:6.

Then after that, there is the tremendous access to the New Jerusalem,
REV 21:7.

There is the tree of life, the Gazebo in the Garden which belongs to a few, REV 2:7; REV 22:2.

Aor-act-inf – agorazo = to buy, to purchase, to invest.

Para + ablative of source – ego.
“Buy from Me” or “buy from the source of Me.”

In presenting something of value – accusative singular direct object from the noun chrusion.

PSA 19:10 – doctrine is much greater than gold.

Chrusion emphasizes the fact that Bible doctrine must always be number 1 in our scale of values, and number 1 in the priorities of life.

A further description of the gold – per-pass-part – puroo = to refine through heat.

This word actually means refined or purified.
“I advise you to buy…” = is perception, metabolization, and application of Bible doctrine.
“Gold” – something of value = Bible doctrine refined.

The active voice: Bible doctrine in the Canon of Scripture produces the action of the verb.
It purifies and refines the believer.

EXO 19:18 – fire represents His glory, His brightness, and that which justice destroys.

JER 5:14 – fire represents the communication of Bible doctrine burning and consuming those members of the human race as wood.

JER 20:9 – metabolized doctrine is said to be like a fire within that is impossible to withhold.

MAL 3:2 – fire represents the way God puts His people through trouble and sorrow in order to make them pure and remove them from the influence of evil.

ACT 2:3 – fire represents the power of God the Holy Spirit enabling the New Testament believer to fulfill the divine commands.
