The seventh Commandment in EXO 20:14   "You shall not commit adultery" which refers to all types of sexual sins.

Is the Phallic cult, a religion condoning and tempting the believer with sexual sins,  is it still around today?

"Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary, Second Edition" - says that a cult means devoted attachment to, or extravagant admiration for, a person, principle, or thing etc.

Webster's Dictionary - a cult is a great devotion to a person, idea, or thing, (especially), such devotion regarded as literary or intellectual fad or mania.

A cult is not necessarily devotion to a "god" as such, but it can also be devotion to an idea, especially one set up by the "god" of this world, Satan himself.

He knows that one of the most basic needs in the human race is the need to be loved, appreciated and wanted.

Most individuals do not understand the difference between natural desires and lusts.

Paul is actually telling us about the influences that are impelling and driving and urging the old self in us toward destruction.

Lust is the Greek noun epithumia, the word itself actually means to have a strong or an overpowering desire.

Our Lord said just before His death; Luk 22:15, "I have earnestly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer."

In verse 15, the word for "earnestly desired" is the same word that is used elsewhere for lust --- epithumia.
It means a driving desire, whether good or bad.

Mat 5:28  But I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust [epithumia] for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Mat 13:17  "For truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired [epithumia] to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

1Co 10:6  Now these things happened as examples for us, that we should not lust [epithumia] for evil things, as they also lusted [epithumia].

1Ti 3:1  It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to [epithumia] the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.

Jam 4:2  You lust [epithumia] and do not have; so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

In all these passages epithumia can mean lust or desire depending on not "what" it is directed towards but "how" it is directed toward those things.

"How" the kingdom of darkness with its tremendous organized plan appeals to the needs of people to get them away from the PPOG for their life!

It is true that lust can mean lasciviousness or an illicit, uncontrolled, overwhelming desire which originates from the old sin nature.

The dictionary also defines lust also as a pleasure or delight.
It can also mean an intense longing or craving for something.

The overmastering and overpowering desires of most people are evil.

There is a difference between the legitimate desires and the needs that a person has and the different lusts that are destroying many individuals inwardly.

And one of the main reasons why Paul said that involvement in these different forms of sexual sins was a form of worship toward idols or demons is because Satan knows the human race better than we do.

  1. The worship of a physical object or objects as God.
    2. Inordinate attachment or extreme devotion to something.

An idol is defined as an object of extreme devotion, hence, it could be almost anything in a person's life, here in our subject it is a reference to sex.

There is a difference between the legitimate desires and needs that a person has and the different lusts that are destroying many individuals inwardly.

The natural instincts in all of us, such as hunger, sex, survival, self-defense are not wrong in themselves.

All the instincts that belong to our human nature are in and of themselves not only "not" bad, but in many cases they are "good and healthy" to happen to us.

It is God who has put these natural instincts into man....including the desire for sex and a need to be loved.

There are a lot of areas that the Lord helps us to understand such as in JOH 1:9   There was the true light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

The enlightment is God speaking to our conscience and our heart and stressing the point of being dedicated and devoted to the plan of God.

He knew you even before you were a fetus or an embryo in JER 1:5  "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."

Our Lord believed in this principle because in  JOH 7:17, He said,  "If any man is willing to do His will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.

EPH 1:4  He blessed us just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.

Even nature fulfills a desire to know God as the heavens and the stars  speak to us, in PSA 19:1  (A Psalm of David.) The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

Constant action on the part of the divine Trinity is taught in PSA 19:2  Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge.

In ISA 49:1  "Listen to Me, O islands, And pay attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called Me from the womb; From the body of My mother He named Me."

In the New Testament this desire for the things of God is taught throughout the epistles; GAL 1:15-16.

GAL 1:15-16,   But when He who had set me apart, even from my mother's womb, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

David is saying,  "I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking."

In verse 7, he is saying "Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight?"

Darkness isn't dark to You; night and day, darkness and light, they're all the same to You.

Paul is blown away as he understands the angelic conflict, the reason and the purpose you and I were created, Isa 43:21; Rev 4:11.

As the apostle Paul thought he was finished with the Epistle to the Romans, God said "No! You still have more that needs to be done.

With no chapter break in the original language, look at Rom 12:1-2.

He is saying in effect, "God you knew about me and my problems and therefore in eternity past You provided everything I would ever need to fulfill those legitimate desires in life.

These instincts have been given to man for the enjoyment and the preservation of life!

One of those main instincts is the desire to be loved, needed, held and for sexual encounters.

A part of that perfection = his various instincts and powers and propensities were put in such an order and peculiar arrangement in man that they are all meant to minister to his good and to his enjoyment of life.

These instincts which are mainly in man's body, were meant to be under the "control" of his mind.

God's will was that man should have dominion and control over his "natural" instincts.

The mind alone is not enough, God also gave man a conscience which is higher than the mind and gives instructions to the mind.

Man being made in the image of God, the conscience was meant in turn to be controlled by God himself.

For a man or woman to say that there's anything wrong with these instincts is to deny the scripture.

Celibacy is advocated by the Roman church and others.

There is nothing wrong with sexual desires.
To say so is to say that "God" put evil into man.

We are all aware that all our instincts must be in their right place which means that they must be governed and controlled by the mind and heart.

Here is the tragedy of the whole cosmic system; that the order has been reversed and that mankind is being governed by his instincts.

This is a major reason why the Phallic Cult or a devoted attachment or great devotion to sex has hit our nation and the entire world.

The tragedy of the whole cosmic system is the fact that the order has been reversed and that mankind is being governed by his instincts instead of governing his own instincts or his or hers desires to be fulfilled.

When the "instincts" get into control they become lusts.

When that which is meant to be under control takes charge and governs the life, there is chaos....and that is exactly what is meant by lusts.

Prin-Lust simply means that an affection or an instinct is taking charge of us and governing us.

The mind is being silenced.
The conscience is being ignored.
When this happens, the state of man is one of chaos and confusion.

There is nothing wrong with the affections implanted in man but the affections must never become inordinate.

Evil desires everywhere are in control while reason and understanding have been pushed aside.

The decay and the steady movement toward destruction is simply the dominance of lust controlling the individual.

Man controlled by his lust is moving in the direction of decay.

What is taking him there?
Answer = his lusts!

What is it that controls the lusts?

Paul says it is deceit, Eph 4:22.

The real ultimate and controlling power is deceit.

The lusts in turn manipulate the man.

  1. Immorality of all kinds, Lev 18:3‑25, e.g., fornication, cultic prostitution, homosexuality, etc.
  2. Idolatry related to the Phallic Cult always includes human sacrifice, Lev 20:1‑5.

Emotion was very important for the perpetuation of the Phallic Cult or excessive sexual activity.

  1. The phallic cult also included frenzied group sex, Lev 20:1-5.
    4. Demonism, Lev 20:6.
    5. Rejection of authority, Lev 20:9.
  2. Spiritual, social, and cultural degeneracy, Lev 20:10‑23.
    7. Bestiality and incest is forbidden and those involved in them pay the penalty of capital punishment or death, Lev 20:14-21.
  3. Masturbation, Deu 12:29-31; Gen 38:8-10.
  4. Excessive use of alcohol and the promotion of nudity among the sexes, Hab 2:15-16.

HAB 2:15   "Woe to you who make your neighbors drink, Who mix in your venom even to make them drunk So as to look on their nakedness!

HAB 2:16  "You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor. Now you yourself drink and expose your own nakedness. The cup in the Lord's right hand will come around to you, And utter disgrace will come upon your glory.

Idolatry and the Phallic Cult were responsible for the downtrend of client nation Israel mainly through sexual sins; Isa 2:8, 18‑20, 21:9, 36:18‑20, 37:12‑19; Jer 3:6‑11, 2:27‑30, 7:17‑20, 17:1‑4; Eze 6:4‑6
