Jude, a bond-servant (doulos) of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are the called (kletos divinely selected), beloved in God the Father, and kept (tay ray oh preserved) for Jesus Christ:
May mercy (eleos) and peace (eye ray nee) and love (agape) be multiplied (play thun oh, in the passive voice) to you. Beloved, while I was making every effort (spu day dilegence) to write you about our common salvation,
I felt the necessity (I felt distress, ana kay) to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly (ago knee zo my, as in a physical contest only used here) for the faith (pistis) which was once for all handed down to the saints.
For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into loose living or licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
The Greek name for Jude is Ἰούδας from a Hebrew word yeh hu da or Judah (praised) which is where the name Judas originates.
As we steam on in the end times, Christians and churches will abandon the Bible and truth they once held.
ISA 33:22, For the LORD is our judge, (judicial branch)
The LORD is our lawgiver (legislative branch),
The LORD is our king (executive branch);
He will save us.
JER 17:9, The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it?
What makes it all worse is weak and watered down preaching, and that in a rejection of sound doctrine.
MAT 7:15, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
1TI 4:1, But the Spirit says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
Women who boldly almost defiantly in some cases take the position of a PT, and in doing so are in defiance of GOD’s stated word. GOD never calls a woman to be a preacher. To add further blasphemy, some churches put a gay woman to lead a congregation as a PT?
1TI 2:12, But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man… For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
ROM 1:26-28, for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
When GOD delivered the Children of Israel from Egypt, HE did so with many miracles. Everyone, of those miracles done in Egypt was a direct debunking of an Egyptian false god or goddess. 10.
GEN 6:1-2, Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
Here it was examples of the Exodus generation, then the fallen angels and the Sodom and Gomorrah story.
JDE 1:8-9, Yet in the same way these men also by dreaming (sexual dreams), defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties. But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him [the devil] a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
DEU 34:5-8, And Moses the servant of the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said. He buried him (Michael was sent by the LORD) in Moab, but to this day (when you read that in the Scripture it means to this day) no one knows where his grave is.
1CO 10:13, God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
JDE 1:10, But these men (these apostates that Jude has described) revile (blas fee may oh blasphemy they speak evil of) the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. Woe to them!
JDE 1:11-13 For they have gone the way of Cain (1), and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam (2), and perished in the rebellion of Korah (3).
12-13 These are the men who are
1 hidden reefs in your feasts
2 caring for themselves;
3 clouds without water,
4 autumn trees without fruit, dead,
5 wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam;
6 wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.
14-16, It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.
Vs 17-19, But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.
Vs 20-21, But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith by 1 praying in the Holy Spirit, 2 keep yourselves in the love of God, 3 waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
22-23, 3 categories: apostate believers, unbelievers that are at least interested in
the Gospel and then unbelievers who not interested in the Gospel.
And have mercy on some, who are doubting (most believe this to refer to the apostate believers); save (sozo) others, snatching them out of the fire; (these are the unbelievers, give them the Gospel message) and on some have mercy with fear (respect), hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. This are the ones that will not believe.
Vs 24-25 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord, glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
