We are now noting commandment #7 as well as the relationship of idolatry and the influence of the demonism with the Phallic Cult and sexual sins.

We all have some type of “giant” or “giants” that we have to deal with such as the main one, the giant of fear; also there are the giants of worry, doubt, guilt, condemnation, moral and immoral degeneracy.

Using the principle of typology we have
EXO 14:14,  “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

DEU 1:30, “The Lord your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf [the incoming giants], just as He did for you in Egypt [in the world] before your eyes,”

Here is the confidence of the giant killers; in DEU 3:22, ”Do not fear them, for the Lord your God is the one fighting for you.”

Giant killers recognize that the Lord has already fought their battles; DEU 20:4, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

JOS 23:3, “And you have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the Lord your God is He who has been fighting for you.”

JOS 23:10, “One of your men puts to flight a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, just as He promised you.”

PSA 35:1  (A Psalm of David.) Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; Fight against those who fight against me.

All of the giants like unbelief, fear, doubt, and worry, etc. are designed so that we do have faith in the promise for without faith we will forever remain in the desert of the world and the flesh.

Remember that one of the most important principles behind “giant killing” is EPH 6:16  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.

Now, before we go on in our study, we need to focus in on the relationship between the giants and the promises and doctrinal rationales God has provided.

There is a spiritual promise Land for each Christian where the believer lives and breathes the promises of God? (ACT 17:28).

The Promise Land is where God has called us to live as Christians and where God wants our hearts to be; MAT 6:22-25.

Iis these hostile giants that the word of God teaches us to overcome, 1JO 5:4.

No amount of money or wealth can even compare to the riches of possessing even one promise, 2PE 1:2-4.

When we have faith in the promises and patience to wait on the Lord and not become weary and faint in our minds, God will be well-pleased with us; HEB 11:6.

The promises never fail because they are based upon who God is Heb 6:18; TIT 1:2.

Is a giant going to rob you of your faith and defeat and your thought life from claiming and believing the promise land for your life.

COL 3:2, Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

The promises of God were NOT made to just be in your Bible on a dusty shelve, the promises of God must be taken aggressively and held unto and believed with a firm conviction and an undying hope.

Our God has promised and He cannot lie and therefore His  promises must be alive in our heart and become engrafted to our very own soul.

The promises (epaggelma) refers to a declaration to do something with implication of obligation to carry out what is stated.

This word implies an emphatic public announcement.

It means that the promise is only as good as the One who made it.

God is publicly announcing to the world that He is faithful to His promises and He will emphatically carry out His Word.

God cries out “Prove Me now if I am not faithful.” Our confession should be, Watch what my God will do!

Unfortunately Christian expectation in the average church follows the church programs, not the promises.

What we all need today is a fresh spirit of anticipation that springs out of the promises of God.

We must declare war on the mood of apathy or indifference that many usually fall into and use the promises and doctrines from the Lord to handle the giants in life.

You have rights as a part of your inheritance as a child of God, which God has decreed with all the authority of His Word as the promises of God are firmly rooted in God’s love, pleasure, purpose, and declaration for you.

You have a legal right to eternal life and a home in Heaven.

You have a legal right to victory over the devil and his authority on the earth.

You have a legal right to freedom from the bondage of sin and all its consequences.

You have a legal right of deliverance from fear, worry, anxiety, and doubt.

You have a legal right to the Father’s protection and care.

You have a legal right to use the name of Jesus Christ in prayer, invoking its authority and power.

You have a legal right to be more than a conqueror in any situation.

You have a legal right to overflowing joy in all of life’s circumstances.

You have a legal right to the peace of God ruling in your heart, no matter how intense the problem or trouble.

You have a legal right to the wisdom of God. You have a legal right to confidence and boldness.

You have the legal right to have all of your needs met according to God’s riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

You have a legal right to do all things and be ready and equal to anything through Christ who strengthens you.

You have a legal right to salvation and wholeness in every area of your life.

You have a legal right to perfect health and deliverance from all forms of sickness and disease.

You have a legal right to prosperity and overflowing abundance in your life.

You have a legal right to be completely free from every form of depression, condemnation, guilt, misery, despair, and any other type of mental bondage.

You have a legal right to live and walk in the revolutionary and life changing love of God that proceeds from the heart of God.

You have a legal right to be changed at the return of Christ and receive a new body unlimited in scope and dimension.

You have a legal right to all the blessings of your inheritance in the family of God.

You have a legal right to the goodness of God abounding in every area of your life.

He says they were superhuman and abnormal beings and their destruction in Noah’s time was necessary for the preservation of the human race.

Some of the giants were legends in the world like Anak and very well-known among the nations and were considered unconquerable.

Now, as most of you may already know, the crossing of the Red Sea is a picture of Christ’s death for you and me — when he cuts us off from Egypt or the world in all its attitudes, ways, and opinions.

Your spiritual baptism was an expression of the fact that you were passing out of one life into another, and that your whole attitude was changed.

But crossing the Jordan River is a picture of your death with Christ, when you bring your Adamic life to an end; when all that you are in Adam comes to an end — your reliance on yourself, your desire to have your own program, to live and make your own decisions.

2CO 2:14, But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

The issue now is what is preventing you from taking the promises of Word and appropriating them in your life?

2CO 2:14, But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

Under the leadership of Moses and later Joshua who killed the kings Sihon and Og; DEU 3:11, DEU 3:11 For only Og king of Bashan was left of the remnant and it is referring to the giants in the land known as the Rephaim.

He was approximately 12 feet tall and if the weight correlates with the size of the other giants, he would be about 450 pounds.

But that’s not what I want you to be occupied with, I’d rather have you occupied with the fact that there is a good chance that Church history may record your name as a giant killer.

JOS 2:10, “For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.”

GEN 6:4, The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The point is that Moses, Joshua, Caleb and David,  as well as members of David’s family, just to mention a few all had on their eternal resume the fact that they were giant killers.

And they will be rewarded as giant killers says 1Co 3:11-15; 2Co 5:10.

Caleb killed the gigantic descendants of Anak that lived on a mountain; JOS 14.

It is unlikely that one of the names in that list would be of man known as Elhanan.

Elhanan is mentioned once in the Bible (in two verses) and what makes him stand out is that in his introduction (in both verses), he is identified as the killer of Lahmi, a giant, who was the brother of the giant Goliath.

Elhanan carried weapons and a spear very similar to that of Goliath (1CH 20:5; 2SA 21:19).

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
