The promises of God will be fulfilled no matter what mankind does: Jacob and Esau.

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Are they all a part of the promise because they are Israelites? No. In fact many, even priests were not born again and saved.

It is never entitlement of the flesh that satisfies God but regeneration and positive volition, and this is why the first-born will not inherit the blessing for the first five generations of the Jew.

No matter what rejections occur in this life, whether you perform them, your loved ones perform them, or your enemies plot them, there is always one constant that cannot go unrecognized, the Lord Jesus Christ.

2CO 11:3
But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds (noema = heart) should be led astray from the simplicity and purity (haplotes = integrity of mind) of devotion to Christ.

2PE 3:8
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

GEN 3:15
And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.

Yet how did God the Father choose to accomplish the final defeat of the villain? Enter stage “up” the God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ, the true Hero.

So rest believer, in the promises of God. He will accomplish it. He is all and in all. He is the beginning and the end. His will will be done.

God repeats His word to us as many times as we need it, and He never tires of encouraging us with His promises.

God helps Abraham’s faith by being silent to Abraham for 13 years.

ROM 9:9 For this is a word of promise: “At this time I will come, and Sarah shall have a son.”

We go through peaks and valleys in the spiritual life. One day we’re on top, running with God, feeling invincible, and then the next day or the next, back in the valley of doubt and fear and shame.

Often times God will do to us what He does to Abraham at this point in his life. After mistrusting and being confused and doubting God for so long, God will be silent toward us.

ROM 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Nothing compares to your existent relationship with Him.

He is your God and you are His son and nothing in the world, no relationship, no promotion, no worldly prosperity even remotely compares to this relationship in your soul.
