Daniel was a man of Purpose, Prayer and Prophecy.

The King of kings and the LORD of lords was coming to smash those empires depicted in the image.
And HE did. HIS first advent changed the world.

The first four kingdoms have been identified as the Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman Empires.

The point of the image is that man is weak without the LORD. Man may look powerful but the feet mixed with iron and clay is always one blow away from falling apart. Only GOD’s kingdom will last and it will last forever.

The Babylonian Empire stood for 66 years;
The Medo-Persian Empire 208 years;
the Greek Empire 185 years,
and the Roman Empire stood for more than 500 years.

Germany under Adolf Hitler is referred as the Third Reich.
The word Reich in English is basically empire.

Through many battles Germany took about half of the old ancient Holy Roman Empire.

Through many battles Germany took about half of the old ancient Holy Roman Empire.

This was considered by many to be the first Reich. The Second Reich occurred in the 1800s when Wilhelm I became German Emperor with Otto von Bismarck as the first chancellor. Weimar Republic (1919-1933), an Interim Reich. The third Reich, Hitler who felt he was going to have the 1000 years.

Some 40 years from this Daniel has a vision, a dream about a similar succession of Empires only he sees them as beasts.

The Jewish religion was the only one that claimed Jehovah as the only true GOD. And the only one that prohibited worshipping false gods.

We are not to compromise our faith and our worship to the LORD.
These three could have honored the image, and worshipped GOD.
