The greatest form of deception is spiritual deception or religion.
Verse 23 – they had a light, but the light of a lamp will not shine in them any longer.
They stopped teaching doctrine – the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer.
Sorcery – pharmakeia = demon influence and doctrines of demons.
As the leader of all fallen angels and ruler of planet earth, Satan has been able to compile a cosmic system – a mass of thoughts, opinions, speculations, systems of false doctrines, panaceas, plans, systems of all categories for deceit, policies, and objectives by which Satan seeks to control the world which he rules.
In cosmic two, Satan has provided a communion table to complement real spiritual death.
Corrupt – phtheiro = the destruction and ruining of the inner life of an individual through the communication and impartation of garbage in the soul.
2PE 2:15 Forsaking the right way [PPOG] they have become deceived, having followed the way of Balaam, [personal gain] who loved the wages of unrighteousness.
Goodspeed translation – “they set their hearts on dishonest gain.”
Williams translation – “They fall in love with the profits of wrong-doing.”
The degrees of deception correspond to the degrees of apostasy. Past a certain point, you cannot distinguish between the believer and unbeliever in the cosmic system.
Deception is a process of demonization in which every facet of the soul is eventually controlled by demon doctrine, so that there is a complete personality change to some form of sociopathic or psychopathic personality.
A. Reaction and distraction.
B. Frantic search for happiness.
C. Operation boomerang.
D. Emotional revolt of the soul.
E. Permanent negative volition.
F. Blackout of the soul.
G. Scar tissue of the soul.
H. Total state of apostasy.
MAT 22:29 “You are deceived, not understanding the scriptures, or the power of God.”
PSA 95:10 “They keep on being deceived in their hearts, and they do not know My methods.”
HEB 3:10 They always go astray in their heart; and they did not know My ways.
MAT 24:24 “For false christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
REV 13:14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform.
GAL 6:7 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”
Self-deception is believing that grace will stop the law of volitional responsibility from transferable results.
1JO 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and truth is not in us.”
1JO 1:9 If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
One of the greatest forms of deception today found in the church is the deception that a believer can reach a place where he no longer sins.
PRO 6:16-19 – out of the seven worst sins which are listed, six of them have to do with the sins of the soul, and one has to do with murder.
Deception results from garbage allowed in the heart or the right lobe of the soul, ISA 44:20.
1. They make bad decisions from a position of weakness in the cosmic system, negative volition.
2. They lose control of their personal lives.
3. They have no personal sense of destiny.
