The results of going down to Egypt.

Friday, October 5, 2001

The land of Canaan = the place of fellowship, learning doctrine, testing, blessing, and glorification of The Lord Jesus Christ.

Canaan was named after one of Noah’s sons, Ham, EZE 16:3. Ham had two white sons and two black sons. Canaan was one of the white sons.

Canaan was always occupied by the sons of Canaan, so there were Hittites, Amorites, and Jebusites (a mixture of Hittite and Amorite) in the Land.

COL 2:17 “things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.”

At the Second Advent, Jesus Christ will return to Jerusalem and His feet will touch first on the Mount of Olives,ZEC 14:1-4.

Bethel represents the place of worship and receiving doctrine and growing in God’s word.

The building of the altar points to the building up of an edifice or the edification complex of the soul, the soul structure, HEB 13:10.

HEB 10:38 “But My righteous one [mature believer] shall live by means of doctrine; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Abraham is going down to Egypt, the place of human viewpoint, human security without God, sublimation, escape, and total failure for the believer.

Egypt = the world, the flesh, and the system of slavery that you were once involved in.

This instability in Abram’s life also leads to instability in his action and in his marriage with Sarah.

When believers get into reversionism, their entire life-style changes.

Abraham is about to change and become wimpy like a silly woman, 2TI 3:6.

Egypt is the place of weakness, cowardice, deception, and failure.

The hadith condones lying – Volume 4, 578 “Abraham lied twice for the sake of Allah because of Sarah.”

Surah 2:191 Kill transgressors wherever you catch them. Surah 2:193 Fight them on until there is no more Turmoil or oppression, and until justice and faith in Allah prevails. Let there be hostility to those who practice oppression. Surah 2:216 Fighting is prescribed for you, and you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.

Surah 4:74 Let those fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. To him who fights in the cause of Allah, – whether he is slain or gets victory – soon shall We give him a reward of great value.
