1Cor 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.
2Cor 6:14 Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?2Cor 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE
2Cor 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
1Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
Eph 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,
All Bels have this temple but when this construction pulls together (unity) it is fulfilling the PPOG and glorifying God.
Eph 2:21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord,
This points us to unity in the body of Christ when the temples all come together filled with God the Holy Spirit fulfilling their calling in the PPOG.
Eph 2:22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
Speaks to positional sanctification meaning set apart as special & pure. In your position you are already perfect and the whole body (church) coming together is forming a huge tabernacle.
Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,
Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
- Efficacious grace
- Regeneration
- Baptism of the Holy Spirit
- Indwelling of the Holy Spirit
- Sealing ministry of God the Holy Spirit
- Distribution of spiritual gifts
- Filling power of the Holy SpiritEph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Efficacious grace)God the Holy Spirit made the gospel available to you (more than once) and at some point you acknowledged (free will) you needed a savior. The Holy Spirit made spiritual wisdom understandable to a spiritually dead person.Joh 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. This is not available to a spiritually dead person. It is only available to those given a new nature (spirit). The Bel is Trichotomous (body, soul & spirit).Gal 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.This new creature we have become is entered into divine royalty. God the Holy Spirit ushers us into this family.Rom 8:17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.The Unbel shares in nothing with Christ they have chosen to be an enemy of the Cross. They remain a human being with body & soul and the reality of facing two deaths in the end.
Tit 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing (loutron) of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
(Washing from the word of God)
When you were saved you did not give yourself a bath and that is why water baptism never represents salvation. God gives you a bath, the washing of regeneration is an illustration of salvation by grace. God does the work!
“regeneration” — paliggenesia
(palin = again; genesia = to be born) means to be born again.
Titus 3:5 -It should be translated – “through the washing even regeneration-” even the “renewing”
1Pet 1:23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
Regeneration by the word and the power of God the Holy Spirit. IMPERISHABLE- eternal life!
Joh 3:7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
This is a statement made to not only Nicodemus but to everyone, a proclamation and standard that is imperative.
1Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
(Baptism of the Holy Spirit)
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
Mat 3:11 “As for me I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
1Cor 3:16 Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
Indwelling is different than the filling power.
1Cor 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
2Tim 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
All Bels are sealed with a permanent & divine recognition that they are ‘of the family of God’.
Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.
Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
2Cor 1:21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us in God. 22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.
1Cor 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
1Co 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
It is a command in – Eph 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
Filled– is imperative in the Greek and in the present tense which means the Bel is commanded to habitually be filled.
1Joh 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him (Christ) ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
The Lord Jesus Christ was led by God the Holy Spirit. In His humanity He was filled by the Spirit throughout His whole life.
1Joh 2:28 Now little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming.
Joh 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
This is in reference to a Bel reflecting Christ because they are filled with Spirit and producing fruit of the Spirit.
1Joh 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
IF – 3rd class condition, meaning a high probability – but it is up to the Bel.
Col 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
Col 2:6 Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.
You received salvation by the word and the ministry of God the Holy Spirit along with your faith.
Col 3:9 Do not lie to another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, 10 and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him-
Eph 4:24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
1Joh 1:9 if we (Bels) confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
