We begin this evening by noting some of the names that Satan, who is also is known as the Devil, and he has been given a number of names or titles in the Scriptures.
Even though Satan has many names and titles, he is still around today no matter how popular his Names or Titles are, this is so that we can still glorify our Lord and Savior.
Satan is called the Day-Star;
The Son Of The Morning;
The Anointed Cherub;
The Messiah's special angel;
The Tempter;
The Ruler Of Demons;
Beelzebul;
The Evil One;
The Enemy;
The Liar;
Father Of Lies;
First Murderer;
The Ruler Of This World;
The God Of This Age;
The Angel Of Light;
Belial;
The Authority of The Atmosphere;
The Adversary;
The Roaring Lion;
The Angel Of The Abyss;
Apollyon And Abaddon;
The Dragon;
The Old Serpent;
The Deceiver Of The World;
The Accuser Of God's People;
We need to follow our "Fearless Leader," who is our Lord Jesus Christ and we can "Follow Him," no matter what the cost to follow Him, may be.
The acronym ICE = It can also be called an initialism at times which usually means that the word mentioned is usually made up of what we call initials found in the first letter of the words that are mentioned.
ICE is an acronym = usually means that the word mentioned is usually made up of initials found in the first letter of the words that are mentioned.
RAM (Random Access Memory);
LASER (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation); NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration),
OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries).
FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), and DVD (Digital Video Disk).
This is when you usually use the first initial or the first letter of a word to reveal to an individual a certain principle or a certain word by using the first letter of the word, which usually is made up of another word, like ICE.
- Isagogics = refers to the historical setting of the passage and how one of us uses the first letter of a word or an initial of a word that the passage reveals so that he can get the point across of the subject or the doctrine that we are studying.
There are times when we study the Word of God and the best way we can teach it is through the historical categories or the Historical Doctrines, and therefore that is what the ("I") reveals in ICE.
- The second letter which is the letter "C" referring to the Categories of doctrines and to the systematic theology developed from combining Scripture with Scripture.
- The letter "E" which refers to the exegesis or the original language of a passage that emphasizes what the original language has to say.
There are times when we study the Word of God and the best way we can teach it is through the exegesis or the original language of Scripture or what the "E" reveals in ICE.
The exegesis refers to the grammatical and syntactical analysis of the passage from the original languages.
Exegesis refers to the "grammatical and syntactical analysis that reveals our personal needs and the logistical needs that we all need to function under in the plan of God.
There are times when we study the Word of God and the best way we can teach it is through the exegesis or the original language and therefore that is what the "E" reveals in IC(E) .
(MB) Isa 28:9 "Is that so? And who do you think you are to teach us? Who are you to lord it over us? We're not babies in diapers to be talked down to by such as you‑‑
(MB) Isa 28:10 'Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's a good little girl, that's a good little boy.'"
(MB) Isa 28:11 But that's exactly how you will be addressed. God will speak to this people In baby talk, one syllable at a time‑‑
(MB) Isa 28:12 and he'll do it through foreign oppressors. He said before, "This is the time and place to rest, to give rest to the weary. This is the place to lay down your burden." But they won't listen.
(MB) Isa 28:13 So GOD will start over with the simple basics and address them in baby talk, one syllable at a time‑‑ "Da, da, da, da, blah, blah, blah, blah. That's a good little girl, that's a good little boy."
(MB) And like toddlers, they will get up and fall down, get bruised and confused and lost.
John 15 = Our Lord and His disciples celebrated the Passover and right after our Lord also instituted the only ritual that the Church-age believer is responsible to keep which is called the "Lord's Supper."
What we call the Lord's supper was not commanded for us to follow since it was not commanded in the Old Testament at all.
MAT 26:29 "But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom."
What a promise He made to us because He does not lie and, in fact, He has provided everything that we (that is His bride) would ever need as a reminder that we belong to Him.
Do you live like that?
Do you realize who you belong to and who belongs to you?
1Pe 2:9 You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession,
It is so as 1Pe 2:9 says so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
They could not celebrate the reality of the "Lord's Supper" until our Lord died upon the cross and fulfilled certain commands that the "Old Testament" prophesied would be fulfilled by our Lord.
Look at 1Co 11:23, where the apostle Paul did say and did teach that at certain times the principle of the ritual of the cross being converted to the reality of the cross.
The apostle Paul also reveals to us how he and the other apostles heard about the sufferings that our Lord said would take place when our Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, died upon the Cross.
He taught the unlimited atonement, which means that "our Lord died for all" and that He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
JOH 1:29 "Behold, He (our Lord) is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
The Son of God reveals who our Lord was as He was related to the deity of the Trinity.
The Son of man is a manifestation of the humanity of our Lord in bodily form on earth.
He had parents, a childhood, a physical body that He was able to resurrect it, but that was part of the difference between Jesus as the Son of Man and Jesus as the Son of God.
The Son of Man was physical, subject to physical laws; the Son of God was not.
MAT 16:21 From that time Jesus Christ began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.
They thought that their Messiah was going to come, set up His kingdom, and destroy all of the Romans who refused to bow down to them because they had rejected and refused the authority and the kingship of Christ.
So many unbelievers as well as lukewarm believers they wanted the victory of God without the cost of the victory which is found in many passages throughout the Bible.
- Expose his lies and attack him for judging me or judging our congregation.
- Don't expose his lies and let others think that what he teaches is from God.
3. Totally ignore him.
If you are wondering what I have chosen to do, you need to study PHI 1:15-21.
They have heard certain phrases over and over again that revealed the principle of losing your life for the cause of Christ and most of the Jews refused to do that.
MAT 10:39 "He who has found his life shall lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake shall find it.
Think about it, the disciples were hearing many things that they had not heard in detail before concerning our Lord and what He was going through.
- Our Lord must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes.
- Jesus would die for His disciples and for what He believes.
- He would be raised up or resurrected on the third day.
There was an entire faction of religious leaders and religious teachers who didn't even believe that there was a Resurrection or for that matter "any resurrection at all" and they were known or called "Sadducees."
We need to be sure that we believe what our Lord says even though it may not mean that much to you right now…..but it will as you 2Pe 3:18.
When our Lord said such things such as the fact that He would suffer and die, that especially woke up men and even women who were willing to die for the cause of Christ.
Just like us, Peter was willing to die for our Lord if he needed to but Peter, who is too emotional to make such serious decisions while he is emotional or led by how he feels.
If you know what happened to Peter then you know that we should never make such serious decisions when we let our feelings control us.
Remember what happened to Peter, he made a commitment and a vow that he could not fulfill.
The more you give, the more others want.
You cannot be rushed to fulfill such things as you says like your promises to our Lord and the vows that you made to His people, then you need to be reminded of something that our Lord warns us not to do.
"Do not make promises or vows to the Lord when you know eventually you are not going to fulfill those promises or vows."
You need to be aware of the fact that our Lord hates lying as well as cowardice.
I did not say that our Lord hates liars and cowards, I said our Lord hates the sin of lying and the sin of being a coward.
None of us get away with anything as Gal 6:7 says because "In His Time, He will bring all things to the light."
It is arrogance in the individual that makes vows that they cannot keep.
It is also arrogance in the individual who makes promises that they cannot keep.
They can get more in life if they take care of #1 = Themselves.
It is because, as in the Roman empire, all you had to do was to shake a hand, or make a vow because man's word was good enough to back them out.
When money controls us = you are classified as a liar and a coward, and from what I see that is usually proof enough that you are on the road to carnality and you have no respect for God or for His people.
Psa 16:2-3 Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent [mature believers who have virtue] , in whom is all my delight.
As the Message Bible translation says Don't shoot off your mouth or speak before you think.
Don't be too quick to tell God what you think He wants to hear.
You need to realize that God is in charge, not you‑‑and the less you speak, the better off you are.
The sad thing is that you made some decisions to God or you made a vow or a promise to God, or to His people and you could care less about those you hurt.
PRO 28:1 The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Transference Arrogance means that the person accuses others of doing the very same thing that they do.
Transference Arrogance also means that you are attributing to others the same thing that you do yourself .
Transference Arrogance also despises others for doing that same thing that you do yourself.
What many of these believers fail to see is that Satan and his kingdom of darkness specializes to sow discord among the people of God.
2Ti 3:1-2, Realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men or women will be lovers of self,
2Ti 3:3 "lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self‑control, brutal, haters of good,
2TI 3:4-5, (They, the carnal believer or even the religious unbelievers are also treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and (what is it that you need to do?) It is avoid such men or women as these.
2Ti 3:1-2, Don't be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self‑absorbed, money‑hungry, self‑promoting, stuck‑up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse,
2Ti 3:3-4, dog‑eat‑dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God.
2Ti 3:5 They'll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they're animals. Stay clear of these people.
2Ti 3:6 These are the kind of people who smooth‑talk themselves into the homes of unstable and needy women and take advantage of them; women who, depressed by their sinfulness, take up with every new religious fad that calls itself "truth."
2Ti 3:7 They get exploited every time and never really learn.
Solomon is simply teaching us this: Don't shoot off your mouth, or speak before you think.
Don't be too quick to tell God what you think He wants to hear. God's in charge, not you‑‑the less you speak, the better.
Ecc 5:6 Don't let your mouth make a total sinner of you. When called to account, you won't get by with "Sorry, I didn't mean it." Why risk provoking God to angry retaliation?
