The secret of the mystery. Part 112. Standing firm in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare.

Sunday, October 30, 20055. Because their old sin nature is exposed.

1) The old sin nature controls the soul.
2) The believer enters the cosmic system.

For the believer living in the PPOG, all suffering is designed for blessing.
For the believer living in the cosmic system, all suffering is punitive.

The first self-sustaining function of your priesthood is rebound; the second is perception, metabolization, and application of Bible doctrine.

The believer uses the recovery drill, rebound, to get out of the cosmic system; then he uses the application drill to endure suffering for blessing.

1. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare will continue his momentum inside the PPOG.
2. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare must have a personal sense of destiny.

3. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare must have control of his life in normal times so that he will have control of his life under pressure.
4. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare must make good decisions from a position of strength.

5. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare must possess right priorities.
6. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare functions under honor, integrity, and virtue when under pressure.

Right priorities are not developed in the crisis.
Right priorities must be developed before the crisis!

7. The believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare is spiritually prepared for disaster.
Sometimes, the pattern of the believer who holds his ground in the angelic conflict and spiritual warfare is low profile during normal times, but it emerges from obscurity to stand in the gap during the crisis.

MAT 18:7 For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes.

Spoken - laleo = to communicate doctrine.
Cognitive imperfect tense = they would not have the awareness of the sin nature.

The tax-collector was a Roman aristocrat, but considered by the Jews to be the lowest of all social rank at the time of writing.

MAT 9:10 - our Lord associated with publicans or tax-collectors and “sinners” or prostitutes.
The tax-collectors and prostitutes kept coming to listen to our Lord because of their positive volition to the gospel, LUK 15:1.

Many today think they are able to discern Satan’s policy of evil and God’s policy of grace.

The majority of believers cannot distinguish between divine good and good and evil.

The Pharisee was a Jew and a religious leader who believed in salvation by works and spirituality by works.

Apparently this tax-collector understood by the observation of the various Levitical sacrifices exactly who and what Christ was.

Aor-pass-part - statheis - staqeiV" = to take a stand.
Passive voice = something caused the Pharisee to take a stand, his good works.
It means taking up his position ostentatiously in a static and upright position of perfect security and self-satisfaction.

Per-act-part - hestos - e" - perfect tense = this was always his attitude to stand in a position of humility before God.
Williams translation - “the Pharisee stood and said this self centered prayer.”
The Pharisee used 29 words in his prayer to the publican’s six.

1. That he was not created a Gentile.
2. That he was not a plebeian, an ordinary Roman citizen.
3. That he was not born a woman.
