The secret of the mystery. Part 116. The mystery of adoption, part 4.

To advance to spiritual maturity one must be led by the Spirit of God.
To be led by the Spirit of God, one must know the word of God to execute the will of God.
It involves the notion of similarity or likeness; a son and a father have similarities.
They have certain things in common, a likeness of nature.
GAL 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith [our “true family”].
MAT 10:30 “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
A father tries to develop a plan with the child’s interest and future in mind and that is what our Father has done!
He is always ready to receive us, listen to us, and to grant us His blessing.
He is more ready to “give” than we are to “receive.”
MAT 6:8 “For your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him.”
“Sons” - noun - huios = a child of the King, or mature sons.
Having complete confidence in your relationship with the Lord is a very important part of happiness in life.
Happiness in life is not a set of pleasant circumstances but the ability to be confident and secure in all situations.
Spirit - pneuma = “a state of mind or a state of slavery.”
Slavery - douleia = used for people who allow their circumstances to dictate their attitude.
Fear is called “a life of slavery.”
Salvation does not mean automatic freedom.
It is enjoying the benefits of adoption that frees us from slavery to the bondages of life.
Another benefit of our adoption is the ability to face, understand, and recognize reality in life.
a. He transfers doctrine from our human spirit to our human soul which orients us to time and temporal things.
b. He transfers the doctrine from our human spirit to our soul which orients us to eternal life related to our relationship with God.
Doctrine has a two-fold function in life:
1. It orients us to reality in time.
2. It orients us to reality in eternity.
Children - noun - teknon = a technical child with emphasis on learning; an heir of God.
Heirship is based on sonship.
We are definitely children of God but we are potential heirs.
The variety of sufferings are not only designed for the blessing of the mature believer, but also to magnify distinctive doctrines and meet those situations with the doctrines that glorify God.
If you desire to glorify your Father as an adopted Son you must learn how to handle underserved suffering.
“Present time” = in the time that God has allotted to each one of us, a certain segment of that time will be devoted to undeserved suffering.
“Thinking” really controls the situation.
Paul is emphasizing that the ultimate end and objective of our adoption is our glorification.
Glorification means full and entire deliverance from sin and evil in every respect.
Glorification = man is not only delivered from all the effects of the fall but granted a far “superior position and blessing” than he would have had if he had remained without sin.
GEN 1:28 And God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
When man fell, all that he had dominion over also fell. This is suffering because of association.
Even nature wants to get back on the ball just as mankind!
“Revealing” - apokalupsis = the manifestation, revelation, of the sons of God; a reference to the Second Coming of Christ.
The curse on nature will be removed at the Second Coming and nature will become perfect once again.
Since the fall of man, God ordained that nature would fight man, GEN 3:17-19.
