Spiritual mechanics must be parlayed into spiritual dynamics: part 3. The mirror you should look at.

Friday, October 3, 2008

There are many believers who only go as far as knowing and learning the word of God through the use of the spiritual mechanics, but then stop there, not manifesting spiritual dynamics.

You become a doer of the word when you apply the spiritual mechanics with the function of the spiritual skills producing spiritual dynamics resulting in spiritual fruit.

The Four Spiritual Mechanics:
1. Filling of the Holy Spirit.
2. Metabolized Bible doctrine circulating in the soul.
3. Ten problem solving devices.
4. The execution of the PPOG.

The Three Spiritual Skills:
1. The filling of the Holy Spirit.
2. The word of God circulating in your soul or your stream of consciousness.

3. The problem solving devices deployed on the FLOT line of the soul.

Merely hearers refers to those who hear the word, but as
MAT 13:22 says “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”

Worry - merimna - singular = the number 1 category of distraction from the cosmic system - anything that causes worry.
It refers to those things which are existentially important, and so they monopolize the believer’s heart and become a distraction to the spiritual life.

Their refusal to apply the spiritual mechanics means no spiritual dynamics and no godly fruit.

1. They are interested in the presentation or the teaching of CERTAIN doctrines and in learning the points, but only operating in some of the spiritual mechanics only.
2. A hearer of the word = believers who generally pick and choose the doctrines they want to apply as they go through certain situations in life.
3. A hearer of the word only = believers who inevitably reject the authority of the one who communicates; they will attack and criticize him, and they will start to bounce around, going here and there from one place to another.

Andri - a nobleman = one born into nobility, and at the point of salvation we are all born into nobility; we are entered into union with Christ.

A believer can be carnal, reversionistic, have emotional revolt of the soul, or be mature, but he is still a nobleman.
This is positional truth.

GAL 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

ECC 8:11 Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil.

Pres-act-part - katanoeo.
Kata = norms or standards.
Noeo = to think.
It means to think in terms of norms and standards.

Here is a nobleman looking in the mirror and beginning to think about what he sees.

Look - “katanoeo” = to give some very serious thought to what you see so that you know yourself and you know what you have just seen.

The word does not mean just a glance; it means to look at yourself thoroughly, to be able to, as it were, memorize your own features.

Memorizing your own features and looking in the glass or the mirror of the word of God is like doctrine in the left lobe first and then through the spiritual mechanics; doctrine is in your heart.

Doctrine in your heart is not designed for you to concentrate on yourself, but for you to use the spiritual mechanics to concentrate on the person of TLJC and behold Him in the mirror of the word of God.

1. Filling of the Holy Spirit.
2. Metabolized Bible doctrine circulating in the soul.
3. Ten problem solving devices.
4. The execution of the PPOG.

The purpose of these spiritual mechanics are is that we are being transformed into the same image of the Lord from glory to glory, by means of the Holy Spirit, which is spiritual dynamics in action or the fruit of the Spirit in our life being manifested.

A lot of believers may understand the spiritual mechanics but fail to go beyond that to the function of the spiritual skills producing spiritual dynamics or spiritual fruit.

HEB 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

For spiritual mechanics parlays into spiritual dynamics manufacturing the fruit of the Spirit in the believer’s life.

No matter how it turned out, good or bad, you finally walked away from the mirror and sooner or later you either apply the doctrine resulting in spiritual dynamics or you forget or reject the doctrine.

You elevate the means, the spiritual mechanics, above the purpose, spiritual dynamics.

Like the Jews in 2KI 18:4 with the bronze serpent called Nehushtan, you elevate the means of deliverance above the Deliverer Himself.

Once he has looked in the mirror and gone his way, he may know what he looks like in his mind but he has left the mirror of the word of God and he forgets the importance of application.

You stop after you get doctrine in the left lobe or even when you have it in your right lobe but only as a form of knowledge and not spiritual dynamics.

PRO 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so he is.
PRO 27:19 As in water face {reflects} face, So the heart of man {reflects} man.

1CO 13:12 For now [Church Age] we see in a mirror dimly [the mirror is the written Word], but then face to face [the Rapture]; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.

“And gone away” - perf-act-ind - aperchomai.
- You have a lifestyle of never settling down, no stability in the spiritual realm.

LUK 14:18 “I bought a house and have to take care of it first.”
LUK 14:19 “I just bought five teams of oxen, a business, and I really need to check them out.”
LUK 14:20 “I’m married and for that reason I cannot come.”

“And gone away” -
perf-act-ind - aperchomai.

Perfect tense = to walk away from the mirror of the word of God with some doctrine but you never grow up.
You can never apply doctrine, and at some point you will become bored or disinterested or attracted by something else.

1JO 2:15 Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Aor-mid-ind - epilanthanomai = to disregard.
When you go away from the mirror you disregard what you have seen and learned, and that is the end result, so that is a culminative aorist tense.

Middle voice = you did it to yourself, by yourself.
Indicative mood = the reality of personal backsliding or reversionism.

REV 2:5 “Remember therefore from where you have fallen,”

EPH 2:1 you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
EPH 2:3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

You justify where you are spiritually because you know the spiritual mechanics.

“Looks intently” -
aor-act-part - parakupto = to concentrate, to gaze intently, to look into something with great intensity.

It has to do with positive volition, enjoyment, realizing the value of the spiritual mechanics and the enjoyment of having spiritual dynamics being manifested in your life.

This verb is used in
LUK 24:12 for Peter stooping down and looking intently into the empty tomb.

JOH 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
ACT 20:35b “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
JOH 13:17 “If you know these things, you are blessed [happy] if you do them.”
