Spiritual mechanics must be parlayed into spiritual dynamics, Part 4. The greatest blessing money cannot buy.

Sunday, October 5, 2008

This past week we noted a passage that really defines the importance of the spiritual mechanics being parlayed into spiritual dynamics.

1. Filling of the Holy Spirit.
2. Metabolized Bible doctrine circulating in the soul.
3. Ten problem solving devices.
4. The execution of the PPOG.

You become a doer of the word when you apply the spiritual mechanics with the function of the spiritual skills producing spiritual dynamics resulting in spiritual fruit.

They refuse to apply the spiritual mechanics which means no spiritual dynamics and no godly fruit.

Nothing wrong with looking into the mirror of the word of God to see yourself providing that you think of yourself in terms of reality with humility and not with arrogance.

Abides - aor-act-part - parameno - abide = there must always be consistency.

The Word is called “the perfect law of liberty” because it provides freedom to serve and honor God without manipulation or guilt and condemnation.

Liberty - eleutheria = freedom, freedom to love Jesus Christ, to love God, to orient to the plan of God, to function under happiness - +H.

“Having becoming” -
aor-mid-part - ginomai = he became something he was not before.
He or she was once positive and into the Christian way of life, but now they lost interest.

MAT 13:20-21 “And the one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the person who hears the word, and immediately receives it with joy;” yet they have no {firm} root in himself, but is {only} temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.”

“Blessed” - makarios = blessings in time as well as eternity, but most of all, the greatest blessing money cannot buy, +H.

MAR 10:29-30 Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he shall receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”

“In what he does” = he is blessed and happy in the action of doing.

JOH 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”
ACT 20:35b “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
JOH 13:17 “If you know these things, you are blessed [happy] if you do them.”

The spiritual lesson and application for us is that many Christians think that all they have to do is believe in Christ and they will receive all the promises and blessings of God given to them in Christ.

Because their scale of values, their norms and standards, and their priorities are based upon divine viewpoint.

This is a danger because this is when believers get involved in rituals or program spirituality, statistical obsession but have no real personal daily relationship with God.

Not to those, like the Jews, who go through some religious system or formula and do not have a personal relationship with the Lord which is revealed by a spiritual relationship with His people.

We are not to get so technical or adamant about the written word or the principles of doctrine that you become inflexible and forget about the importance of the living word, TLJC.

Religion, rituals, program spirituality, statistical obsession, and man-made rules are all a part of this attack.

By succumbing to the attack of religion, which, in our day and age is exemplified by following rituals, program spirituality, statistical obsession, the believer is in danger of becoming a loser believer and ineligible for reward.

Self-abasement = false humility and the fact that most people are impressed by outward appearance, the tone of someone’s voice, the language they speak, what they give up, especially if giving up something causes them some pain or inconvenience.

Humility, in the sense of self-effacement, is not a Christian virtue; it is an attack of religion.

Some people succumb to the religious attack by catering to asceticism in their old sin nature. Asceticism is simply a strict adherence to rules, regulations, and formulas.

Pres-act-part - thelo - delighting = to constantly take pleasure in self-effacement.

Self-effacement is nothing more than a hypocritical act empowered by pride and arrogance, pseudo or false humility, the epitome of arrogance.

Religion attacks in different ways because there is a great deal of difference between taking pleasure in self-effacement and in the worship of angels. One (self-effacement) has a religious source in the old sin nature; the other (doctrine of demons) has a religious source outside of the soul of the person who becomes a sucker to it.
“Worshipping of angels” = religious worship.

1TI 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

The solution to these attacks is given in verse 19 which mentions two individuals, one is TLJC, and occupation with Him; the other is a divinely appointed officer in the local assembly, called the joints and ligaments.

1. Satan attacks the authority of the Bible. He says that what you dream, what you see in a trance, what you see when you get ecstatic, what you experience is just as real or more real than what the Bible says.

2. It emphasizes feeling and ecstatic experiences as having merit. How you feel, then, is more important than what the Bible says.

The inflation without cause - pres-pass-part - phusioo = to be inflated with pride or arrogance.

COL 2:18... “by his fleshly mind, means under the influence of the thinking from the source of his old sin nature.”

Pres-act-part - krateo - “holding” = to seize, to apprehend, to be occupied with someone or something which belongs to self.
“The Head” - accusative singular noun kephale = TLJC and His absolute sovereignty over His body, the Church.

EPH 4:16 “From whom [Jesus Christ], the whole body, being fitted and held together [baptism of the Spirit], by that [repetitious teaching of the mystery doctrine] which every joint supplies [joints refer to pastor-teachers] and that doctrine is causing the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.”
