1. The multitude following: 2. The missing faith: 3. The miraculous feeding: 4. The many fragments: 5. The Messiah foretold.

LUK 19:47  And He was teaching daily in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the leading men among the people were trying to destroy Him,

GAL 4:29  But as at that time he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so it is now also.

JOH 17:4 “I glorified Thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which Thou hast given Me to do.

JOH 19:30 “He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit.”

After all of the plans of God had been completely fulfilled, after all that was accomplished in Christ’s coming, after He came to Israel with His message, and they had rejected Him,  He still finished what the Father called Him to fulfill.

Not only did they reject Him but they had decided that He was the most blatant kind of blasphemer because He claimed to be God.

He had the gall to break their legalistic Sabbath rules and rituals and that combination caused them to reject Him and come up with accusations that were nothing but lies.

The truth was that Christ came from heaven, the Son of God lived 30 years in obscurity with the exception of a few young years recorded in the Gospel of Luke.

For the last three years of His life He ministered and then He finally died.
TLJC has already been rejected in the southern part of Israel where are working overtime plotting His murder in Jerusalem and Judea.

In the southern part, Jerusalem-Judea area, Christ has been rejected

The rejection of the people in the southern part of Israel, which is known as Jerusalem-Judea and the fact that they have concluded that He is a blasphemer does in no way deter Him from doing what He’s doing or from claiming His deity and that He is God in the flesh.

Just because of rejection in chapter 5 doesn’t mean everything changes, nothing changes, Christ goes on doing what He did, claiming what He claimed and John goes on recording it.

ACT 5:1-10, we have the story of Ananias and Sapphira, husband and wife who sold a piece of property and lied to the church about the price they received.

ACT 5:29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, “We must obey God rather than men.

Just because of rejection in chapter 5 doesn’t mean everything changes, nothing changes, Christ goes on doing what He did, claiming what He claimed and John goes on recording it.

2CO 13:8  For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth.

ISA 54:17  “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

The Lord can turn the curse of deception and the wrath of man into praise toward Himself, PSA 76:10  For the wrath of man shall praise Thee;

1SA 17:47  “the battle is the Lord’s”

EXO 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.”

2TI 4:17  But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me, in order that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the lion’s mouth.

GEN 50:20 “And as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.

DEU 23:5b the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you.

ZEC 2:8 for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.

MAL 3:17 “We are His jewels”

ISA 62:3 “We are His crown of glory”

These things refer to the man who had been sick for thirty‑eight years in JOH 5:5 where TLJC said to the man in JOH 5:8“Arise, take up your pallet, and walk.”

The most miraculous and important thing in the world is the message of the Gospel and the miracle of an individual receiving eternal life.

During His time on earth TLJC performed many miracles, however, these miracles were designed to announce to Israel and those that observed them that He is the eternal Son of God and the real Messiah.

The ultimate purpose of miracles goes far beyond the relieving of human suffering in time, but to prevent eternal suffering in the Lake of Fire

JOH 5:22-23, “For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, in order that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

However, the scribes and the Pharisees accused our Lord of doing work on the Sabbath when He healed the lame man but our
Lord responded by illustrating that; “He was he Son of Man and Lord of the Sabbath,” (MAT 12:8).

MAR 2:27 “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”

He crosses over the Sea of Galilee, to Chinneroth, that little place in northern part of Israel. The journey was not very long.

MAT 14:13, Matthew tells us that the Lord desired to withdraw with His disciples to a lonely place by Himself; and when the multitudes heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities.

Mark tells us that He took a boat and they went secretly, trying to get away.

2TI 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires;

2TI 4:4 says that this same type of believers  And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man‑made fictions.

They followed Him because they were simply pure unadulterated thrill seekers, that’s all they were.

The power that TLJC had to do miracles had placed Him on the crest of a popularity wave and He was really riding on that wave.

This is the same crowd John describes for us in JOH 6:66  As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew, and were not walking with Him anymore.
