The will of God that most believers resist. Knowing no man after the flesh.

Friday, October 9, 2009

1. Knowing the angelic conflict.
2. Knowing the glorification of God.
3. Knowing no man after the flesh.

“according to the flesh”
a reference to knowing or recognizing no one on the basis of the scar tissue in our own soul or the thought pattern of the old sin nature.

even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, means that there was a time when we didn’t know the Lord Jesus Christ and all the implications of His spiritual death upon the Cross.

Then the gospel came through and faith in Christ took the scales off of our eyes or the scar tissue off of our soul.

When you are born again, part of the grace ministry of God the Holy Spirit in regeneration, Titus 3:5, is to remove the scar tissue of our soul.

Take in Bible doctrine and that doctrine is going to be converted into grace as we exhale love toward the Lord Jesus Christ resulting in impersonal unconditional love for all mankind.

Knowing no man after the flesh is going to have some positive repercussions because we are going to love and develop relationships on a grace basis with people.

MAT 5:44-46, “But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you in order that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven;”

“for He causes His sun to rise on {the} evil and {the} good, and sends rain on {the} righteous and {the} unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax-gatherers do the same?”

Knowing no man after the flesh means that you operate from your new nature not your old.

It doesn’t mean we are not to know the Lord according to His flesh, in His flesh He was perfect.
It means we do not try and know Him according to our own flesh or on the basis of our human viewpoint and presumptions.

Presumptuous sins or the sin of presumption is called the great transgression.

Many believers and local assemblies have gone astray from:
Knowing the angelic conflict, and knowing the glorification of God because of the sins of presumption.

MAR 4:24, “Be careful what you listen to.”
LUK 8:18, Therefore take care how you listen;
JOH 7:24, “Do not judge according to appearance,”

ISA 11:3, Those who fear or respect the Lord, will not judge by what their eyes see, Nor make a decision by what their ears hear;

Knowing no man after the flesh means that you believe and live on the basis of what our Lord.
JOH 8:15 “You people judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone.”

Avoiding presumption and knowing no man after the flesh allows the believer to recognize and understand thatPRO 14:12, “There is a way {which seems} right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

If you truly operate with the problem solving devices: the filling of the Spirit, grace orientation, doctrinal orientation, personal love for God the Father, impersonal love for all mankind, and occupation with Christ, you will learn to think like
2CO 5:16-17.

If you know or recognize no one according to the flesh and realize that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, then HEB 8:12, will be a reality in your life and protect you from a lot of heartache and self-induced misery.

Your new way of thinking according to the new spiritual species will be HEB 8:12, “For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”

HEB 10:17, “For I will be merciful to their i And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

MIC 7:18, Who is a God like Thee, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession?

MIC 7:18b, He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love.

His mercy is His specialty.

MIC 7:19, He will again have compassion on us; He will tread our iniquities under foot. Yes, Thou wilt cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea.

He thinks with the mind of Christ, with divine viewpoint not human viewpoint, and believes and applies passages:
PSA 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

ISA 38:17c For You have cast all their sins behind their back.

ISA 38:17, “Lo, for {my own} welfare I had great bitterness; It is Thou who hast kept my soul from the pit of nothingness, For Thou hast cast all my sins behind Thy back.”

JER 31:34c, “For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

PSA 103:10, “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.”

PSA 65:3, “Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, Thou dost forgive them.”

COL 2:13, He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions.

It is compassion which motivates forgiveness.

Feared in the Hebrew means reverently worshipped.

EPH 1:7, In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace,

ISA 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake [because of my honor and integrity]. Furthermore, I will not remember your sin.”

1JO 2:12, “I am writing to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.”

The love of Christ has to do, first of all, with His deity.
Jesus Christ is God and He loves you, He always has loved you.

He has the power to love you and He has the consistency to love you.

The one who loved us and gave Himself for us, 2CO 5:14b one died for all, therefore all died;

The love of Christ is grace in His soul, it is something that can be duplicated in us even though we possess and old sin nature.

Verse 15 reveals the next installment of grace in the soul, we are not going to live for ourselves, which is subjectivity, but to live for others, which is objectivity.

That they who live should no longer live for themselves, is a dative of disadvantage.

How do you live unto yourself?

Knowing no man after the flesh means that you believe and apply passages like
PSA 85:2, “You did forgive the iniquity of Your people; you did cover All Their sin.”

They had outrageous violations or abominations.

In EZE 16:6, they were miserable and bloody, helpless and filthy.

In verses 7-14, the Lord blessed them and restored them.

In EZE 16:15, their beauty went to their head and they became a common whore, grabbing anyone coming down the street and taking them into their bed.

EZE 16:17 They took all the fine jewelry God gave them and served them as delicacies in their whorehouses.

They also took their sons and daughters in verse 20, and killed them, sacrificing them to idols.

In EZE 16:24, At every major intersection they built their bold shrines and exposed their sluttish sex, spreading their legs for everyone who passed by.

Then they went international with their whoring. They fornicated with the Egyptians, seeking them out in their sex orgies. And the more promiscuous they became, the angrier God got.

EZE 16:27, the Lord begins by saying, “Finally, I intervened and turned you over to the desire of their enemies. Even the Philistine women were shocked at their sluttish life.”

EZE 16:28, “You went on to fornicate with the Assyrians. Your appetite was insatiable. But still you weren’t satisfied.”

EZE 16:29, “You took on the Babylonians, a country of businessmen, and still you weren’t satisfied.”

EZE 16:30, What a sick soul! Doing all this stuff--they were known as the champion whores!

In verse 31, They built their shrines at every major intersection, opened up their whorehouses in every neighborhood, but they were different from regular whores in that they wouldn’t accept a fee.

EZE 16:32 Wives who were unfaithful to their husbands accepted gifts from their lovers in verse 32.

EZE 16:33, And men commonly pay their whores. But you pay your lovers! You bribe men from all over to come to bed with you!

EZE 16:34, You’re just the opposite of the regular whores who get paid for sex. Instead, you pay men for their favors! You even pervert whoredom!

EZE 16:36 I, GOD, the Master, say, Because you’ve been unrestrained in your promiscuity, stripped down for every lover, flaunting your sex, and because of your pornographic idols and all the slaughtered children you offered to them, (TMB)

EZE 16:37, therefore, because of all this, I’m going to get all your lovers together, all those you’ve used for your own pleasure, the ones you loved and the ones you loathed.

I’ll assemble them as a courtroom of spectators around you. In broad daylight I’ll strip you naked before them--they’ll see what you really look like.

EZE 16:48, “As I live,” declares the Lord God, “Sodom, your sister, and her daughters, have not done as you and your daughters have done.”

EZE 16:48, As sure as I am the living God!--Decree of GOD, the Master--your sister Sodom and her daughters never even came close to what you and your daughters have done.

EZE 16:49, “The sin of your sister Sodom was this: She lived with her daughters in the lap of luxury--proud, gluttonous, and lazy. They ignored the oppressed and the poor.”

EZE 16:50, “They put on airs and lived obscene lives. And you know what happened: I did away with them.”

EZE 16:51, “And Samaria. Samaria didn’t sin half as much as you. You’ve committed far more obscenities than she ever did. Why, you make your two sisters look good in comparison with what you’ve done!”

EZE 16:52, “Face it, your sisters look mighty good compared with you. Because you’ve out-sinned them so completely, you’ve actually made them look righteous.”

Aren’t you ashamed? But you’re going to have to live with it. What a reputation to carry into history: out-sinning your two sisters!

In spite of all that,
EZE 16:60, “All the same, I’ll remember the covenant I made with you when you were young and I’ll make a new covenant with you that will last forever.”

EZE 16:60, “Nevertheless, I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.”

EZE 16:61, “You’ll remember your sorry past and be properly contrite when you receive back your sisters, both the older and the younger. I’ll give them to you as daughters, but not as participants in your covenant.”

EZE 16:62, I’ll firmly establish my covenant with you and you’ll know that I am GOD.

EZE 16:63 “I will forgive you for ALL that you have done.”

1JO 2:12, says that Your sins are forgiven for His names sake.
