The Armor of God – Part 2

The Breastplate of Righteousness

Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal Future

Before you begin this Bible study, if you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then 1 John 1:9 tells us: “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise-Memory Verse

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God,

so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

The Apostle Paul wrote the New Testament book of the Ephesians while he was in prison in Rome. This showed that no matter what bad stuff happened to him, he didn’t throw himself a pity party. When Satan tried to defeat him, the Apostle Paul obeyed God and wore His armor at all times.

Every day, we need God’s protection because we have invisible enemies like Satan and his group of evil, fallen angels all around us. They want to try ruining God’s plans for you.

They spread lies through newspapers, television, internet,

and even some of the text books in your school. Satan wants to try and get you to believe that there is no God or that the universe sprung into existence by the Big Bang Theory.  The Bible tells the truth:

“In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

The first piece of equipment that God gives you is the belt of truth. It’s worn on the inside, and it protects your soul from Satan’s lies.

The belt of truth means that you need to listen to Bible Doctrine every day. With God’s word in your soul, you will be able to spot lies like a pro.

God’s truth will last forever. He has never ever lied.

Roman soldiers all wore armor. The first thing that they put on their bodies was a belt. Next, the Roman soldiers put on the breastplate. It was attached to the belt. It was made of metal and bronze. It kept swords from being plunged into their heart and lungs.

At the moment that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, He gives you something that you desperately need to complete your mission. God shares His righteous with us: called the breastplate of righteousness.

Righteousness=Everything God does is right.

“Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness” Ephesians 6:14

The breastplate of righteousness is kind of like a cell phone. In order for it to work, it has to be charged up. Here are the directions to activate it:

Rebound – Tell God what you did wrong: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

This will put you in fellowship with God and you will be filled with God the Holy Spirit.

Satan and his friends will try to step up their game when they see that you have obeyed God by putting on belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness.  They will do whatever it takes to stop you from fulfilling God’s plan for your life.

The apostle Paul was constantly attacked by the devil and his companions

( Also referred to as KOD =kingdom of darkness).  He even wrote about them in

2 Corinthians 11:24-25:

“Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. “

A lot of bad stuff happened to the Apostle Paul, but he didn’t get mad at God, and He didn’t give up. He still put on his armor every day. He did the right thing no matter what happened to him.

When the breastplate of righteousness and the belt of truth are hooked into place, you will know that there isn’t anything you can’t do without God’s help, and you won’t be afraid to follow God’s plan for your life, even though bad things are happening to you. Satan and his minions will not win! You are in the Lord’s army; God’s armor will protect you.
