The Armor of God: Part 5

The Helmet of Salvation

Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal Future

Before you begin this Bible study, if you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then 1 John 1:9 tells us: “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise-Memory Verse

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God,

so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

Everyone in the Roman army wore helmets. They were made out of bronze and were lined with leather or cloth to make them more comfortable.  These helmets protected their head, neck, the side of their face and their brain.

Even though the helmets were heavy and uncomfortable, the Roman soldiers were supposed to wear them at all times in order to be prepared for battle.

When you are little, your parents will make most of your decisions for you. Then as you grow, you will be able to make lots of choices on your own. Like, who your friends will be or if you will play the trumpet, or which kind of books you like to read. Some of you may choose to play

softball, baseball, or basketball. Others of you may like to do art projects, ride your bike, sing songs, or bake cookies.

The most important decision that you will ever make is whether or not you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior!

Once you do this, it assures you that you will have eternal life forever, and will go to Heaven when you’re finished with following God’s special plan for your life.

Satan and his group of fallen angels are your invisible enemies. They work really hard to try to keep you from getting eternal life.

One of the things that they love do is to make both kids and adults think that they have to be really good in order to get to Heaven. This is a total lie!

God’s grace saves you. You can’t save yourself by being good.

The Bible verse below tells us the truth. Not one single person is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. We all need a savior.

“As it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE” Romans 3:10a.

God the Son, who is perfect in every way, volunteered to get a human body and come down to earth and pay for our sins by dying on the cross. His name is the Lord Jesus Christ. He then rose from the dead after 3 days. So, He is alive right now waiting for us to join Him.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13

As soon as Satan and his minions find out that you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior,

they work behind the scenes to spread another big fat lie!

They try to get you to think that you will lose your salvation if you are bad.

God gives you eternal life because of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior; not because you are a good person. It can never be lost!  Nobody can steal it from you either!

“And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”  John 10:28

God the Father is totally satisfied with the work the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross and there is no need for you to do anything accept believe it.

The Lord Jesus Christ paid for your sins in full. You will never owe one single penny (redemption)!

When you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, it’s like wearing a helmet like the Roman soldier did. The invisible Helmet of Salvation will protect you forever and can never be removed.

“And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”  Ephesians 6:17

God has stuff He wants you to do after you are saved. He wants you to learn His word so that you will be able to tell the truth from lies (Belt of Truth).

God shares His perfect righteousness with you, so rebound the bad things you think, do, or say in order to activate this. That way you will be able to do the right thing even thought bad things happen to you (Breastplate of Righteousness).

There is no longer a wall between people and God (reconciliation). We are at peace with Him.

So, always be ready to share the gospel with other people

(the boots or shoes of the gospel of peace).

Learn God’s promises and remember reasons to trust God, so that you can quit being afraid and worrying or be stressed out (the Shield of Faith).

So, join the Lord’s army by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ’s gift of eternal life. He will welcome you with open arms and share His invisible armor with you.
