Part 1
Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal future
Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise Memory Verse
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.” 2 Timothy 2:16a
The Bible is made up of 66 books. There are two parts to it; The Old Testament and the New Testament. It’s not like any book you have ever read because it’s not just a book; it is the Word of God and everything in it tells us the truth. (Veracity = another name for truth) God never lies.
TRUTH IS TRUTH
One of the best ways to find out where the books of the Bible are listed is to open your Bible and turn to the table of contents (located in the beginning pages). That way you will know the page number of where each book starts.
How about if we explore what’s inside of the Bible:
The Old Testament is the first section of the Bible; it starts with the book of Genesis. Moses wrote this book of the Bible, but he didn’t write what he wanted. God inspired every single word. That means all of the words in the Bible are written by men but are the actual thoughts of God.
Genesis tells us that God made the first man, Adam out of dust and breathed the breath of life into him? He made chickens before He made eggs and He made every animal in the entire world including panda bears, elephants and colored fish. God made fruit and vegetables, trees and grass without planting seeds first.
Exodus tells about a little baby who was put in a basket into the river to save his life.
One passage mentions that once there were lots of frogs everywhere that they were even in people’s beds. It speaks of how slaves were set free and how they escaped because God opened up the Red Sea right down the middle in order to make it happen.
There is book in the Bible called Judges that tells us about a man named Samson who was the strongest man in the entire world and was able to kill a lion with his bare hands and make a huge building collapse.
1 Samuel tells us how God helped a young man named David to kill a 9 foot tall giant named Goliath with a sling shot and a stone and about the first king of Israel who’s name was, King Saul.
1 Kings tells us about a brave man named Elijah, who called upon God to send a huge pillar of fire from Heaven to destroy an idol that was completely drenched in water.
The book of Daniel tells us how God rescued Daniel from hungry lions when he was thrown into their den. It mentions 3 people who were thrown into a fiery furnace but God was with them and they didn’t die or even smell like smoke.
GOD NEVER LIES
God had the writers of the Bible put over 7000 promises from Him into it so that when we have problems, we can remember how to trust in God, to handle bad things that happen to us. He also tells us all about Himself, so that you will have reasons why you should trust God.
Let’s try and memorize the first 10 of the books of the Old Testament.
