Promise Memory Verse

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1

GOD AND HIS WORD HAVE ALWAYS EXISTED

The Bible has 66 books and 2 parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. All scripture is inspired by God which means that human authors wrote down what God told them to write, not their own opinions or a bunch of lies. The books of the Bible and their page numbers are found in the table of contents.

Before paper was invented, God’s Word was carved into stone or clay tablets.

Eventually parchment paper was created and the Bible was written by hand and rolled up into scrolls. Now the Bible is printed on paper with a machine and made into books.

Genesis is first book of the Bible and is found in the Old Testament. It

explains how God made everything. The first man was made out of dust not monkeys. He made the fruit, vegetables, trees, grass, and the animals. This means that the chicken came before the egg.

The Word of God is powerful enough give everyone eternal life!

God even shares His power with us and all we have to do is to tell God the bad things we think do and say, which is called the filling of the Holy Spirit. His Words have the power to help us every single day.

The Old Testament scriptures tell us how God helped a young man named David to kill a 9 foot tall giant with a slingshot and a single stone. It also mentions how God safely delivered Daniel after he was thrown in a pit of hungry lions!

The first 4 books in the New Testament are the gospels or good news; they talk about the life of Christ and how He paid for our sins on the cross and then came back to life after 3 days. These books also mention miracles that our Savior did, such as walking on the water without sinking and healing a blind man with spit.

The book of Acts in the New Testament tells us about how the Apostle Paul and his friends traveled to all kinds of places to spread the gospel and started new churches. Even though Paul didn’t have an easy life, he wrote letters to those churches and they became a part of the New Testament. They are called the Pauline Epistles.

The Bible is the only book in the world that tells us true things that will happen in the future, this is known as prophecy. Today some people lie and pretend that they know the future by looking into a crystal ball or by looking at tarot cards.

Only God knows what will happen in everyone’s future

There are prophecies that mention how our Savior, Jesus Christ will

come back in the future for 1000 years. During that time there will be lions, leopards and snakes that are as tame as kittens and people will live to have 900 or even more candles on their birthday cakes.

The Bible is like a spot light. It tells us how to get eternal life by simply having faith that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of the bad things we think, do and say. The light of God’s Word explains the truth that our salvation can never be lost even if we are really, really bad. This lamp tells us the plans that God has for each one of us.

God’s Word helps us to know what is true and what is a lie.

It’s never ok to add extra stuff to the Bible because it’s absolutely perfect just the way it is. We should never pick one verse out of the Bible and make it mean whatever we want. When a pastor isn’t sure what a verse means, he needs go back to the original languages that the Bible was written in.

The Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

Evil people will always try to destroy the Bible! They may get rid of a few copies, but no matter how hard they try, the Bible will stand forever. It never expires, or goes out of style like clothing does.

God’s word is alive and can’t be killed

Our invisible souls need to hear God’s Word because they get hungry.

Souls don’t eat bacon and eggs like our bodies do. We get fed by learning the Word of God and trusting Him. There are over 7000 promises in the Bible that will help us know what to do when we are afraid, lonely or treated unfairly.
