Communion-Part 2

Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal future

Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Communion verses

And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you;

do this in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corintihans 11:24

In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood;

do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”   I Corinthians 11:25

Todd had lots of friends that hung out with him; they had so much fun fishing together and playing basket ball. He had a nickname, “The River Rat.” He would throw his fishing pole into the River and within minutes, he would reel in a small mouth bass or a catfish. He bragged all of the time to his cousin Brad about it.

Todd’s cousin Brad was just the opposite, he didn’t have any friends and wasn’t good at sports or fishing. He mostly sat at home and played video games. Brad felt really upset because he desperately wanted friends.

In order to get everyone’s attention, Brad threw rocks and spit at Todd and his friends. Todd couldn’t believe how Brad acted so he told everyone that he knew about all of the terrible things that Brad did. They all laughed and laughed at Brad.

Both of the boys needed to accept Jesus as their savior. Brad threw rocks, temper tantrums and spit at people and Todd thought he was better than Brad and bragged to him about his fishing and then he told everyone about all of the bad things that Todd did.

The truth is that nobody can go to heaven even if they are the nicest person on earth unless they have accepted that Jesus took their place on the cross and paid for their sins. He is really your best friend because He totally understands and loves everything about you. In fact, He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Communion, The Lord’s Supper and the Eucharist all mean the same thing. They all tell us to remember and to be thankful for everything our perfect substitute, Jesus did for you while He was dying on the cross for your sins.

When you get a substitute teacher he or she takes the place of your teacher. When Jesus was your substitute, He died and took your place on the cross and paid for your sins.

Communion is a ritual that we do over and over again. An example of a ritual would be going to the park to look at the baby lambs every year

on the first day of spring.

God wants everyone who has accepted Jesus as their Savior to learn all about Him so that they can love and care about Him. When it’s time for celebrating the Lord’s Supper, You will be given a small cracker and a cup of grape juice and will be told when to eat the bread and drink from the cup. This isn’t your breakfast so don’t eat it yet.

The first thing you need to do is to rebound, which means to tell God the Father, privately the bad things you have done, thought or said.

Before you eat the bread, think about all of the unfair things that Jesus went through. He was bullied, made fun of and beaten. He was in pretty bad shape after He was punched as well.

Lots of people made up lies about Jesus. It was decided that He had to die a horrible death by hanging on a wooden cross even though He had not committed a crime or ever sinned.

Jesus had to carry His cross and it was so heavy that he kept on falling down. A man named Simon ended up carrying His cross for Him to a smelly, place called Golgotha.

Can you imagine how that rough wood of the cross felt on His sore back? Bugs must have gotten into His open wounds. He was hardly able to breathe or talk and was very thirsty. Lots of people were yelling at Him and making fun of Him.

Jesus never felt sorry for Himself, and in fact loved everyone even the people who put Him there. After you have thought about that, you will be asked to eat the bread.

What kinds of things should you think about before you drink the cup?

Jesus loved us enough to stay on the cross in horrible pain while at the same time; a lot of people were mocking and making fun of Him.

The worst part of the whole thing is when it got pitch black outside during the middle of the day and God the Father separated from Himself from Jesus, while He bore our sins. He cried out:

MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?”  Matthew 27:46

Now that Jesus paid for you sins, you get a bunch of very special gifts that are way better than getting any toy that was ever made. These gifts can never be taken away from you no matter how many bad things you do. Here are a few to think about.

Eternal life is given to you when you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and you can never lose your salvation no matter how many bad things you do.

Jesus paid the price for your sins once and for all. God the Father was satisfied with what Jesus did on the cross. Jesus rose from the grave after 3 days so He is alive even though He died.

You are in God’s family forever and share everything Jesus has. God will never bring up any of the bad things you did when on earth, it’s like all of the bad things you did was put into a shredder.

At this point you will be asked to drink the cup.
