Promise from God

“Jesus said to her,” “I am the resurrection and the life;

he who believes in Me will live even if he dies”   John 11:25

 Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Hop, hop, hop…Easter is coming everyone! What are some of the things you are looking forward too?  Many of you may say egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, getting Easter baskets full of treats and drawing pictures outside with sidewalk chalk. Sometimes there are so many fun things to do on Easter, that we forget why we are celebrating it. You will be excited to know that it is no ordinary holiday!

Easter is really about our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ coming back to life after He died on the Cross. This is called rising from the dead or (Resurrection.) So, a better name would be: Resurrection Day!  Just in case you are wondering, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ isn’t a zombie, because zombies are not real. Jesus is truly God the Son and Son of man in one person, forever. He always tells us the truth which is found in the Bible.

“He is not here, for He has risen (from the dead), just as He said.

Come, seethe place where He was lying.”    Matthew 28:6

Even though He died on the Cross for our sins (the bad things we think, do and say) a long time ago, in what is known as the Hypostatic Union; Jesus is alive today. Isn’t that exciting!

Our Savior stayed on the cross even though He was in terrible pain and a lot of people were yelling at and making fun of Him. He was perfect, with God’s Righteousness (+R), sinless = without sin. The Lord Jesus Christ never ever lied, talked back to His parents, tattle tailed on his brother, or was afraid. He never complained, threw an angry fit or left his room a mess like we sometimes do.

Jesus wants us to know that we never, ever have to be afraid that we will die, because if we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, our bodies will stay here and our soul will be alive in Heaven with Jesus. We will also get a new body, just like He did. We will be surrounded by people who love us. We will not be afraid or feel any pain in Heaven. We won’t be bored either because God knows everything (omniscience), even just what it will take to make you very, very happy.

Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life;

he who believes in Me will live even if he dies.”   John 11:25

When we believe in Jesus as our Savior, it doesn’t mean that we will die right away and go to Heaven. God gives each of us special jobs to do here on earth, right in the very place you live currently. Every boy and girl are given an assignment, and that is to obey and respect your parents and teachers. They take care of you and have authority(rule) over you. God gave them the responsibility to keep you safe and help you grow. God also want us to tell everyone about Jesus, how He pay the price for their sins, so that they can go to Heaven and have eternal life too.

We know that our Savior really died on the Cross, because a soldier stuck his spear into His side proving, Jesus was dead. His body was taken down from the Cross and wrapped up in cloth strips. He looked kind of like a mummy. His body was put inside of an empty cave, called a tomb, and a very heavy large stone was rolled across the opening.  The Roman soldiers then placed a seal around the stone and stood guard over it, so that nobody could get inside the tomb.

And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard

they set a seal on the stone.   Matthew 27:66

On the following day when it was starting to get light, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary walked over to look at the grave. An earthquake had taken place and an angel of the Lord came down from Heaven and rolled away the stone and he sat on top of it. The angel looked like lightning (very bright) and his clothes were white as snow. The Roman guards were so afraid that they fainted!

The angel told the women not to be afraid because Jesus was not there. Where then could He be. Jesus had risen from the dead. The women quickly ran to tell Jesus’ friends, his disciples, what they witnessed, or saw, had happened…

(to be continued)

Next week, we will see what happens next. Let’s all remember that we need to rebound which is to privately, inside your mind, tell God the Father about our sins; then recover and use the Faith-Rest-Drill. Think of a promise from God, think of a reason to trust God, Relax and enjoy your day because God will take care of everything.
