Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Yesterday, we celebrated Independence Day called the 4th of July here in the United States of America. Many of you may have enjoyed the holiday by eating watermelon, having a cookout, twirling sparklers, watching fireworks, or making S’mores around a fire pit.
Independence Day is really the birthday of the United States of America. Our country was born on July 4th 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed. Before that, we were considered a part of England and had to follow their rules.
The king of England wasn’t happy with us, so there was a war called the Revolutionary War. Many brave men gave their lives while fighting for our freedom. Freedom, certainly is not free, the cost is measured.
The military, we have today, means that brave men and women join it and are willing to die, if needed to protect our freedom. When you hear that someone served their country in this way, you should be proud and honor them, always thank them for their service.
Living in the USA, means that you are free to tell others how to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. You are allowed to own a Bible and can go to any church that you want without fear of being killed. That is freedom!
Last year, you may have played baseball or softball while your family and many other people watched from the bleachers cheering your team on. They probably ate hot dogs, or pop corn from the concession stand. Nobody was worrying about germs; everyone was simply having fun. That was freedom!
Today, most ball parks in many states are empty. We have new rules, so the virus doesn’t spread to other people. This can give you an idea of what it feels like to not have freedom.
Jesus Christ paid for everyone’s sins, which are the bad things you think, do or say while on He was on the cross. The pain was awful, but He loved us all so much that He stayed on the cross even while people made fun of Him.
We have the freedom to accept Him as our Savior or not. Salvation is free; it was won by our Savior dying for us. God gives all of us a decider (volition) to choose to say yes or no to His free gift of Salvation. He never forces or bullies us. That is freedom.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
If you have never believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, now is the time to do so.
Simply inside of your mind, right where you sit right now, tell God the Father that you believe in His Son Jesus Christ as your Savior. There is only one way to get into Heaven when you die. You don’t have to try to be nice to everyone or ask Jesus into your heart. Simply believe In Jesus as your Savior. This is freedom.
