Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal future

Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise Memory Verse

“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him

and He will make your paths straight.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

Do you remember from last week’s lesson about what God wants you to do more than anything else? If you answered “to be really good”, then you guessed wrong. It’s always the right thing to obey your parents, but God wants you to trust Him and to learn lots of Bible Doctrine. He even passes out rewards to the people who do this.

In your memory verse above, God tells you to trust Him instead of trying to figure things out by yourself. Remember that God is so wise

that He made all kinds of different people and animals. What do you think gave Him the idea to make tadpoles turn into frogs and kangaroos that have pockets to carry their babies around? Why can’t people hatch from eggs and fly around like birds?  Why do you hear things from your ears and not your belly button?

Only God knows the answers to those questions because He designed the entire universe. No matter how smart people are, they are never smarter than God. That’s why you need to trust Him.

Genesis 13, 15-18:15

We have been studying about God’s promises to Abram. He promised him many times that He would give him land, blessings and many children. This promise is called the Abrahamic Covenant.

Last week we saw that Abram and his nephew Lot decided to go their separate ways because there wasn’t enough grass to feed all of their animals. Abram let Lot have the first pick. Lot thought he was getting the best deal of all when he picked Sodom. Little did he know that Sodom was a horrible place to live!

After Lot left, Abram went to Canaan and God told him that all of the land in every direction would be his and his families forever! This meant Abram would have kids, grandkids, great grandkids and even more family after that including Jesus Christ our Savior. There would be so many people in his family that they can’t be counted like the stars and the dust.  Abram trusted God.

Ten years later Abram and Sarai still didn’t have any kids and she stopped trusting God to give her a child. Sarai came up with her own idea to have kids. Oh no! She was doing the opposite of what God wanted her to do! She told Abram to marry her maid Hagar so they could have kids. Sarai was jealous and angry when Abram and Hagar got married had a son named Ishmael!

Thirteen years later when Abram was 99 and Sarai was 90, God decided to create a new race of people called the Jews. He changed Abram’s name to Abraham which means the father of many nations. He changed Sarai’s name to Sarah which means mother of nations. Abraham trusted God.

God told Abraham that he and Sarah were going to have a son. Both Abraham and Sarah laughed because it was impossible to have a baby at their ages. Sarah trusted God and even though she was a very old lady and it was impossible for her to have kids, she had a son and named him Isaac. His name means laughter.

Can you imagine a woman in her 90’s having a baby today?

Nothing is impossible for God. Sometimes things may seem impossible and that is when God wants you to remember to trust Him.

Nothing is impossible for God!
