Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise Memory Verse———“Pray without ceasing” –  1 Thessalonians 5:17

Last week, we talked about how king Nebuchadnezzar made a huge golden statue.  He made a rule that everyone had to worship this fake idol. Whoever didn’t bow down to it, were supposed to be thrown into a fiery furnace.

Daniel’s friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, worshipped the one true God. They continued to love, respect, trust, and pray to God every day. One day some evil men told the king what they were doing.

King Nebuchadnezzar was so angry when he found out, that he couldn’t think straight! He told his men to make the fire 7 times hotter than normal. Immediately, the 3 boys were tied up and thrown into the furnace.

Guess what, when the king looked inside the furnace, in the midst of the fire, there were 4 men walking around (instead of the 3 they placed there).

One of them was the Angel of the Lord. God never left their sides (omnipresent) and even kept their hair and clothing from burning up. He protected and shielded them from the fire.

Daniel was an old man when Darius became king. The king gave 120 men the job of helping him rule the kingdom. He really liked Daniel, and made him and 2 other men in charge over those men.

King Darius thought Daniel did such a good job; he was planning to make him in charge of the whole kingdom. The 120 men and others were jealous!  All of them kept on thinking of ways to have Daniel fired, but it didn’t work because Daniel was great at what he did.

All of the evil men got an idea. They knew Daniel prayed to God three times a day every day. The hateful group talked the king into making a new rule. Once it was made, nobody could change it including king Darius.

It stated that any person who prayed to anyone besides the king would be thrown into a pit and be eaten by hungry lions. Have you ever gone to a zoo? It would not be fun to be tossed into their cage would it?

The wicked men saw Daniel praying to the one true God, and they quickly went to tell the king. King Darius didn’t want the lions to attack Daniel. He kept on thinking of ways that he could help him, but was forced to follow his own order. The only thing he could do was to hope God rescued Daniel.

Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den and a large stone covered it. King Darius was so worried, that he couldn’t eat or sleep that night. Early the next morning he went to the lion’s den to see if Daniel was alive. What do you think happened?

Daniel was alive, the Angel of the Lord had shut the lion’s mouths and Daniel did not have any claw marks or bite marks on him. King Darius was happy to see Daniel rescued!

The king was very upset at the horrible men who wanted to hurt Daniel, so the king threw them and their families into the lion pit and Daniel was allowed again to do his job and pray to the one true God.

God loves boys and girls to talk to Him every day just like Daniel did. He cares about everything. God always knows what is best for you, so He doesn’t always say yes to your prayers. If you ask Him to give you a pet unicorn or help you to walk on the water in your pool, He will probably say no. As learn to pray God’s way, He will say yes more and more to your prayers.

Rebound before you pray so that God will hear you. Always pray to God the Father and never to Jesus, Mary, or hunks of stone. Next, pray for your family or friends because God wants you to think about others. After that, pray for yourself. God is never too busy to listen to you.

Promise Memory Verse

“Pray without ceasing”    1 Thessalonians 5:17

How do I talk to you God?

I will tell God before I pray all the wrong I did today

I do not pray to Jesus or a piece of clay or stone

But, to my Heavenly Father who hears me without a phone

I am thankful my mom let me have blue hair

I pray for my dad who fell down the stairs

Please Father don’t let me dream again about the purple bear,

who was chasing my dog Rex everywhere

In Jesus name I pray, Amen
