Are you Foolish or Wise – Part 1

Eternity Past, Age of Gentiles, Age of Israel, Hypostatic Union, Church Age, Tribulation, Millennium, Eternal future

Before you begin this Bible study, If you have never believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior, John 3:16 tells us: “ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.’ Simply have faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and you will have eternal life and be saved. If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise Memory Verse

“Like a dog that returns to its vomit, so is a fool who repeats his foolishness.” Proverbs 26:11

God will guide you if you let Him.

Heather had a very smart puppy; she taught him to sit, stay and he also loved to play fetch and bring sticks to her. No matter how often she fed the puppy, he was always searching for snacks and would eat just about anything. One day the puppy went through the garbage and ate coffee grounds, orange peels and a few napkins.

A few minutes later the puppy started running around in circles and whined to go outside. Once he got outside, he vomited up all of the stuff that he had just eaten. Heather was disgusted; the smell almost made her want to puke as well. Even though the puppy was very smart, the unthinkable happened. The foolish puppy ate the disgusting vomit!

Do you think the foolish puppy learned from his mistake? No way!

Heather delivered newspapers so she could make some extra money and she always folded them and put blue rubber bands around them. One day, while she was out delivering papers, the puppy snuck into her room. He ripped up a pair of underwear that was on the floor, and ate a blue rubber band as well as a half of a bag of Doritos.

A little while later, Heather got back from her paper route and she let her puppy out. The puppy vomited up the contents of his stomach and before Heather could get a hold of his collar, he licked the puke up again. Even though the puppy was very smart and could learn tricks, he was foolish because he always did the same stupid thing all of the time.

Our Bible verse is really all about how wise God is and how foolish we are if we don’t do things God’s way. Let’s think about how wise God is.  He designed the entire solar system. He hung the moon and other planets in the sky and made them spin.

Could you do that, of course not?

God designed our bodies out of a pile of dust and made them to have brains, nerves, and hearts to pump our blood. Think of our eyes and how each part of them are all put together so that we can see. God breathed in the breath of life and gave us each an invisible soul that isn’t like anyone else’s. Could you do that, no way?

When we learn Bible Doctrine, we are learning God’s wisdom. It is way different than what you learn at school. At school you learn how to solve math problems, write book reports and all about different states, countries and bodies of water. Getting A’s and B’s on your report card means that you are smart.

Learning God’s word and all about His promises will make you wise and happy,

even if you are not the smartest kid in your class!!!!

What makes you foolish like the dog returning to his vomit is when you learn Bible Doctrine, but you forget all about it and do things the way you want instead of doing things the way God wants.

You will never be happy unless you do things God’s way.  Never ever forget, God is way wiser that you will ever be.

Always remember God is wise and He is the one who gave you the ability to get good grades on your report card.

God put us on earth for a very special reason. He gave everyone special talents. Some people are really great at art and can paint beautiful pictures, while others can sing like birds. Many people may be whizzes with computers, arrange flowers, or work in a doctor’s office.

Always remember you are wise, when you remember that God gave you every special talent that you have.

Foolish people always keep on thinking that they know everything and that God isn’t important. They are never happy.

“ A fool says in his heart, there is no God.” Psalm 14:1

Wise people know that they need God to guide them!
