If you have believed in Jesus Christ as your Savior; then 1 John 1:9 tells us; “If you confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Simply privately tell God the Father your sins to be filled with God the Holy Spirit and He will teach you Bible truth. Promise Memory Verse
“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man
who built his house on the rock” Matthew 7:24
Our story today takes place during the Hypostatic Union when Jesus lived. Today we live in the Church Age.
Read – Matthew 7:24-27
One day, Jesus was teaching from a mountain and he told a story about wise men and fools building houses. Think about the mountain that Jesus was standing on. It is way stronger than a pile of sand isn’t it.
He let the crowds know that there were two kinds of people, wise and foolish. The wise man built his house upon the rock and the foolish man built his house upon the sand.
One day it started raining; the streams flooded and the winds sounded like freight trains as they pounded against the houses.
The house that was built on the rock was perfectly fine, but the house that was built in the sand collapsed and fell to the ground.
Being wise in the Bible does not have anything to do with your school grades or how smart you might be. It has everything to do with knowing you need God’s help every single day and depend on Him.
The foolish person thinks that they are smart enough to handle everything on their own without any help from God. They think they don’t need God and want nothing to do with Him.
It is more important than ever before to build your house upon the rock instead of the sand. The rock is really talking about Jesus Christ who died on the cross for your sins. He is our rock and is always there for us.
Wise people are those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and then keep on hearing and learning all about God so that they can trust Him when there are bad things that happen.
Foolish people are those who don’t believe in Jesus as their Savior.
They waste their lives doing whatever they want and when they have problems they depend on themselves because they think they don’t need God.
There are also foolish people that have believed in Jesus as their Savior, but they think learning about God is boring and they don’t pay attention in Bible class and they forget that God will help them when bad things happen.
The wise person knows that God is perfect and that He doesn’t make mistakes when he creates people. He knows every detail about everyone including when their birthday is, how much hair they have and whether they will be tall or short.
Foolish people make fun of Bible Doctrine or else they believe God is dead or that He never existed. Wise people learn Bible Doctrine so that they will understand how to do things God’s way.
Let us all be wise and build our houses on the Rock!!!!
The Rock is The Lord Jesus Christ!!!
Jesus is waiting for you to realize that you need Him and that He will always be there for you. After you believe in Him as your Savior, be wise and learn His Word.
